controller cut out mid game?

So i have an issue where in some matches my controller will cut out as if the input isnt registered. I end up having to disconnect the controller by the usb and reconnecting for helldivers to recognise the controller. Its a Turtle Beach xbox controller; nothing fancy, just your standard argos xbox usb pad.

for info; the pad works perfectly fine with other games and isnt degraded in any way.

Just curious if anyone else has had the issue and if theres a Permanant work-around
