i know its apparently super hard to do that tho, that's why only every other game i ever played no matter the size or money of the dev team had it
It feels really bad joining a game with 3 people using mics and you have to type, hoping they are paying attention to it, or dying trying to type something like "stalkers here" because you have to stop to type instead of calling it out. Last night I was playing with some lower levels, and one guy was whining about how bad the HALT is... He never switched it off stun rounds, despite me typing and telling him to switch it to flechettes and how to do it. Guess he didnt read lol
And a lot of times windows does ♥♥♥♥ up the input device, if you got more than 1 option for a microphone or don’t use your headset constantly it’s gonna get mixed eventually
The fact that this is how you have to get your mic to work is asinine
I have a USB Blue Snowball microphone, and it's set to my default input for all of my applications. Everything else works fine, discord, CS2, etc. However, when it's Helldivers 2, people are not able to hear me at all. I can hear them just fine, but not me. It says i am talking when i push my Push-to-talk button, but they still hear nothing. Even when disabling PTT and going on open-mic, they can't hear me.
I have uninstalled the game directly using Revo Uninstaller, also removing all registry keys that were created and appdata folders. Once I reinstalled the game, i had to put all my settings back to where they were.
Issue still present. I went into my Control Panel > Sounds > Recording and i disabled anything that wasn't my microphone. Still it didn't work. I disabled "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" in case another app was using the microphone and not allowing HD2 to use it. Nope. Still didn't work.
While I was running the game, I opened the volume mixer which shows me all of the apps that were running and using sound. I went to HD2 and changed my default input device from "default" to the specific microphone I was using. It seemed to work last week once I changed it, however it isn't working anymore.
You can try to do that if you want, I can't guarantee it's going to work.
So now, I am quite literally pulling out my hair. Communication is very important in this game and it seems odd that my Microphone can't even be heard.
People say to "check your Xbox Game Bar" to see if your default microphone is set to the proper one. I checked, and it is. It only gives me the one option anyways.
I submitted a ticket to Arrowhead because this whole situation is stupid. I am literally unable to speak to anyone. All settings are telling me that my microphone should be working fine.
