huh what an interesting problem, i have it too. I think it may have to do with the anti cheat being over 20 years old but i could be wrong.
In GameGuard, error “170” is caused by a problem with the initialization file or the GameGuard INI file (*.ini). This is the reason why the game doesn’t start. If the game starts sometimes then you are lucky. To fix the problem, either rename the “GameGuard” folder or completely delete it. After this, start the game launcher then it should download the nProtect files again.

If this doesn’t work, try clicking “Check Files” in the game launcher to check for missing files and download them again. If this doesn’t work, run the setup file again and reinstall the game. Reinstall it without uninstalling. This will simply overwrite the files in the installation folder. This is recommended if the game consumes a lot of time and bandwidth to update.

If the problem continues, uninstall and reinstall. Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install it. Once installed, start Revo Uninstaller then select the affected game among the applications and click “Uninstall”. Follow the normal uninstall process. When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and delete everything it finds. This removes everything the program created on your computer.

When it is finished, close Revo Uninstaller then restart the computer. After booting, install the game back.

found this on another forum from over 10 years ago have at it!
Yo so i just got mine to work, if you havent already you need to navigate to the filepath X:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Helldivers 2\bin and delete the gameguard folder then relaunch the game so it creates a new file of gameguard after that reddit was saying to turn off "global Ilumination" and "Anti-Aliasing" especially if you have AMD hardware
