Keep getting 5 files failing to validate, even after reinstall

Getting a lot of drops to ship and desktop again.

Anyone else got this?

Just tried to start the same mission twice and it crashed to desktop within a couple of minutes of starting the mission both times. Went to verify files and got the same message. Haven't reinstalled yet. Hoping I don't have to.

Edit: still crashing after files verified. Couldn't be arsed dealing with it anymore. Hopefully they can roll out a hot fix so that we don't fail this major order.

If the files consistently fail to validate, then those files have probably been installed on a bad cluster. If it's an SSD though, no idea, because I haven't had that problem yet (On HDD's though...).

So I suggest installing the game in a different drive.

Also, could be a steam download cache issue, which requires clearing that, check google for the how to.

nothing to do with the ssd. lots of ppl getting this. used to be 2 files but now 5 since last patch. as for fix, don't know. my game plays "fine" -ish. but if i go validate file i'll get those 5 files failed to validate error too.

Still getting disconnected from my friends' mission. Tried validating but it didn't work

I also get 5 files failed to validate.
I can still play the game if I re-validate a 2nd time (which is a bit strange) or restart steam, and just click play. But the game is encountering a lot of stuttering.

Same here. It's happened three times now. I can tell when it happens because my FPS drops by half. First validation was 2 missing files a few KBs worth. Next two were 5 files missing 4.7 MB worth. Now every day before I play the game, I verify files. It's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ routine for this game now.

check if the game folder is read only
if it is then turn it off then try again

The Anticheat will update itself on startup, making it different to what steam thinks you should have. So sadly for this game, files will always not validate.

Constantly having this issue to the point where I'm verifying every time I hit play, then the game crashes, rinse and repeat. Between Gameguard (absolutely garbage anticheat, it failed on various korean mmos for over a decade btw) forcing Discord to close, and these constant crashes and verifying just to play for an hour just to crash again, Arrowhead and Sony need to actually step up and hire a competent utilities team.

I get the same problem.. 5 files.. always 5 files. I can't ever get into the game to actually play it.. since friday I have not been able to play at all and I have tried over 100 times and done all the suggested fixes. It was running fine up until then.

Seems to be every game or two there will start to be random D/Cs from either my friends or myself. Validating seems to "fix" it for another couple games... rinse and repeat. Feels like I should validate between every game.

Yeah I've just tried again tonight and it has crashed twice on me. First time I went to look in the Superstore. The second time, I went to look at the map.

So, unplayable for me.

I’m still having problems. I can’t even get into the menu now just black screen and then closes itself out. I tried every fix that I can find and nothing. Sucks !! I’m dying to get on the ground out there lol
