Black screen (after mission end) :-(

...is driving me nuts and I will use this thread to document my experience.

My setup

AMD 5950X, 64GB RAM, NVIDIA 4090, latest drivers.

Symptom

in more than every second mission, upon mission completion, I will fly out of the mission, see the summary how well we did as a team and when the detailed rating board should come (the one which includes aim-accuracy, etc), the following happens:

1. Screen turns black, monitor says no signal
   
2. In most cases also Discord crashes. I had a case recently when Discord was still alive and I was able to talk to my friends, while having black screen. In some cases I was able to hear my friends for a short while before Discord crashed.
   
3. Recently I found out that in every case my PC was still alive (!). I saw it by the blinking HDD (NVME) light of the case. Then I put my computer into hibernate (by pressing the power button, which I configured to do so). Then I turned the PC back on, so that Windows did restore from the previously hibernated session. Then I had the screen back again with all my applications still running, except HELLDIVERS for which Windows reported "a problem". Also Discord needed restarting.
   
4. While screen is black, ALT+TAB or CTRL+ALT+DEL does not cure anything. Probably next thing I'll try is to configure a hot-key to kill the process of HELLDIVERS...

This is really extremely frustrating. I just played 15 hours, but it really is not motivating to continue with this hassle, albeit it seems to be a playable and potentially enjoyable game.

Can I fix it?

Config

HDR = off
vFOV = 56
Resolution = 4k
Render scale = NATIVE
Display mode = borderless window (changed from fullscreen, no improvement)
Framerate limit = on, 120 Hz
V-Sync = on

Motion blur = 100
DoF = on
Bloom = on
Sharpness = .75
All Graphics settings on right-most setting (= Ultra / High / On), except:
Async compute = off

After posting this, I had two more crashes.
1st crash: during mission selection

Then I reduced the Graphics Preset to "high", but still:
2nd crash: after mission completion

In both cases I had "black screen" and "no audio", but Windows was still alive. Above trick with hibernate helped to not loose any data of running applications.

Im having the same issue, running on 13th gen i7, rtx 4080, 32GB

Again two missions, two crashes... No point continuing here, unfortunately - each hard reset puts your SSDs/NVMEs at risk...
I guess they overdid anti-cheat....

What you describe is a classic timeout due to PSU issues.

You want to try run on dx11 and lock FPS at 100?

It works for me, so far no crash/black screen

Do you guys run multiple monitors? I'm having the same issue. Happens any time. Few minutes after I land, near the end of the mission or after extraction. I run multiple monitors and unplugged the other ones so far it works. Saw some other reddit post about it being the anti cheat potentially thinking the other screens are bad?

Works for me too, thx bro!

To run on dx11 put "--use-d3d11" in the Launch Options box without quotes.

im now testing with Dx12/Lock 100FPS. So far, no issue for me yet
