Black Screen and Crash on Startup

The game starts up but opens to a black screen but the audio plays, the game then crashes after around 20 seconds. I have uninstalled and re-installed the game several times and remain hopeful with every patch. all drivers are up to date. My game has been broken for weeks now and would like nothing more than to get it fixed

I'm having the exact same issue and nothing I've tried has fixed it. I've tried to run as admin(same black screen & crash), disabled Steam Input(same black screen & crash), attempted to delete and re-install Gameguard(same black screen & crash), verified integrity of files(same black screen & crash), Uninstall and re-install(refunded then re-bought the game as I really wanted in. took 3h to do so for the first download and this download, same black screen & crash as before), and also, throughout all of that, restarted computer(same black screen & crash). Hopefully you find a solution too because this really sucks

same im stuck with that for the past 10 days i think still no fix game goes on window mode gets black thers music and goes down this happened after i i changed my graphics to minimun since idk why but sometimes the lights burn like a pruple light on the screen and not only distracts but also may kill the monitor not sure the way to stop that is using lower graphics when i did that i put on the lowes possible and that broke my game to how it is now soo changing graphics crashes a game forever... this is what hapens when a company exports a console game to pc plataform without testing the problems not we are all stuck with this ♥♥♥♥ game that costed 40€ they better give a discout on the time wasted cause if thers a promotin going one they better refound some of the money THEY ♥♥♥♥♥♥ THE GAME UP !!!PLAYSTATION STUDIOS!!!!

Same issue here, but I do not get any music. It looks like it is loading the anti-cheat -> Black Screen -> Windowed Black screen -> Back to desktop. Occasionally, I get prompted to report data to the PlayStation network. It started roughly 3-4 days ago.

I was looking at another thread after posting this and they mentioned they had instances of the anti cheat running in background even after closing the game. I looked at my task manager and found the same thing. So, I rebooted my system and now the game works again. Might be worth trying for anyone else in this thread that was experiencing the same issue.

I found a way that fixed the game for someone. What we did was simply replace their user config file (in: C:\Users\User-Name\AppData\Roaming\Arrowhead\Helldivers2) with mine since my game was still working. that solved the issue for them

When I noticed this problem about 2 weeks ago I noticed 2 other games that run on Unity start crashing- Regiments and GHPC. I'm curious if anyone knows if this is connected.

its happening to me as well what going on are they even trying to fix it.

I was changing keybindings and clicked the slider on the GPU and now it goes to black screen and crashes.
This fixed the problem.
Windows key plus R opens up hidden folder.
Go to %AppData%\Roaming\Arrowhead\Helldivers2
Delete the setting folder.

This Fixed my issue. I was getting the failed to established network connection error. I deleted the config file and it recreates it on startup.
