Shooting self with Qusar since the 5/8 patch

I think it happens if I have my personal shield on and I am backing up the shot almost kills me and does not damage anything else.

I have never had this issue before and it happened to me six times in one mission making me not use it as soon as I could grab another weapon.

Does it happen with plasma punisher too?
