Sticky Autocannon aiming
Does the Autocannon have some sort of aim assist?
While aiming, that circle that follows my reticle moves smoothly when I'm out of combat, but when I'm trying to aim at an enemy, the circle seems to jitter around, and "stick" to a spot outside where I'm pointing. It feels like an aim assist, but it almost always seems to stick to an area just outside the enemy forcing me to aim an extra 0.5-1 second before I can take a shot. It's super frustrating to deal with, and I haven't been able to find anything in the options that account for it.
I'm using mouse and keyboard

I suggest using first person mode to aim with it. What you face can likely be a perspective issues, depending on how far the enemy is.

I know what you mean.
My only explanation was, that, while you already "aim" at your desired target, you can see your Character still adjusting his position/aim, so maybe it's intentional that aiming takes some time. Yeah it feels like it "sticks" and is jittery, but in fact it seems like your character just needs some time to follow your mouse movement/aim.
(thats just my personal explanation, nothing official)

Yeah it's done on purpose to simulate the weight of the weapon. Crouching out going prone will help with the "jitter" of the reticle. If you try to fire while walking the jitter goes nuts.

I thought it was from moving too at first, but no, even in prone with no movement what so ever the circle jumps around, seemingly away from my target.
I have the same complaint about the weird aim-assist jitter on mouse and keyboard. It also causes me to waste time waiting for it to settle down before firing off a shot. I think most weapons have this. Today i was using the slugger and the aim assist would freak out when a small bot would peak it's head over the top of a hill I was hiding behind.

I've also noticed if you hip fire anything it usually hits whatever is in front of you (Used to hip fire the breaker for small bugs and noticed i was hitting them all effortlessly) so there is definately some auto-aim at play.
