HOW do you link accounts?

My biggest problem with the new announcement is HOW to link accounts. I went into HD2 (from Steam) and poked around the Options interface; I see something in the lower left part of the Screen that says "account" and a random string of letters and numbers (yeah, sorry-- not repeating here) and the option to press "T" for... some function? It's not clear.

I have an existing PS account I created the day of HD2 installation, but when I log into that I see nothing that tells me how to link to my Steam account.

So I wouldn't mind linking the two, but I see no options nor direct path to do so. It wouldn't surprise me to find that 50% of the upset on the forums is simply because some gamers just can't figure out how to do the actual linkage. Some help in that regard would be appreciated.

Bump, I just need the actual steps for how to link. I am beginning to believe that I need to uninstall the game, clear the steam cache of any remnants, and then reinstall in order to get the prompt to come up again.

I already reinstalled today, but no prompt, so Im thinking it caches your preferences.

Thanks, but they changed that interface. I just checked. What I described in my above post is different than what is shown in the YT video. To be fair, that's how I remember it when I first installed the game months ago, but AH definitely modified the interface since then.

Chances are current Steam players already have their account linked to PSN using their Steam e-mail address.

I noticed the QR code link gone few weeks ago.

Banning everyone who doesn't link a PSN account and then making it impossible to link a PSN account? It's a bold strategy Cotton, let's see if it works out for them.

Same. I just created a PSN today but I have an account number at the bottom left of my menu but no QR code. I don't see how I am able to link my account. I hope I don't lose progress.

SAME. In point of fact I also went the EXACT same video to try and figure this out. But there is as others have described, NO LINK, just the copy text for an account, NO account button that links you. So what do we do? because I created a WHOLE new account for PSN because I havent had a PSN account for more than two decades lol. Love this game, btw, and no slight against Arrowhead, but currently NOT pleased with this "DO THIS NOW" and not have a way to do that particular thing. So SONY, yall gonna fix this? because I am NOT seeing anything on YOUR alls support sections either.

Ok, found the answer: They posted it on the official Helldiver 2 Discord. For those of you not there, here is the relevant info:

When is this happening? And how do I connect my PSN account to my Steam account?

Current players on Steam:
Current players on Steam will start to see the mandatory login from May 30th and will be required to have linked a Steam and PlayStation Network account by June 4th.
New players on Steam:
You will begin to see the account linking option appear when booting up Helldivers 2 from May 6th.
To connect your accounts follow the prompts on screen.
You will be required to link a Steam and PlayStation Network account from May 6th.
