AMD GPU Driver Timeout issue still not resolved.
Specs: Ryzen 9 5950x, RX 6800 XT, 32 GB Ram

I have tried every single fix being talked about specifically for AMD systems.
>Updated Radeon Drivers to 24.2.1 which AMD lists should fix this issue.
>Turned off AA and such as everyone suggested.
>Added Game Guard folder to exceptions with Windows Defender.
>Reinstalled game and drivers multiple times.
>Rolled back drivers.
>Monitored temps and any power limit issues.
>Made sure no random controllers are plugged in.

The game continuously freezes and hard crashes my PC at 3 points:
>Right at startup where I get a black screen.
>If I make it passed that at the screen where it displays your ship in orbit after the startup screen.
>If I make it passed that it always crashes when I go to drop into a mission mid cutscene.

No matter what fix I can find on any forums I cannot get this game to work. Please if anyone has any idea what could possibly fix this let me know. I really want to play this game and I don't want to have to spend my days off between work and university troubleshooting computer problems.

Thank you in advance.

[9900K] and [Sapphire Nitro 6800XT SE] here, using 23.8.2 drivers (i never update drivers to last version, ever and usually i keep some months old drivers before getting some months forward, newer drivers are always not really stable and fully tested..)

Never had a crash, maybe only 3 at worst since day 1 up to now.

Try to use a fixed OC on your core clocks. I don't know your brand as you didn't said it, but the reference card have a base clock of 1825 Mhz and a boost clock of 2250 Mhz. Try to put your core clock to 1800 and check if it works.

If yes, go up to 1850.
If yes, go up to 1900.
If yes, go up to 2000
Yf yes, stay there and enjoy.

I have my card that can reach almost 2.500 Mhz and i have made a fixed Oc at 2200 Mhz with few points less of undervolt and it's all fine.

I have a 6800xt sakura lol
Game runs perfectly on it
Do a factory reset on the GPU to clean any borked settings you may have saved and CLEAN DRIVER INSTALL This means DELETE ALL previous drivers.
DO NOT mess with the core voltage or frequency until you have a stable base line that you know for certain functions...this is common sense. :evadebullets:

I do not have any sort of overclock on my GPU, I run it stock. I tried messing with power limits and such with no effect. the instability issues have only been a problem with this game and this game alone. It appears many other people are having this issue too so I am glad yours is working.

my card is stock. I did not overclock this card at all and I tried this factory reset, did not work. don't need to be so rude about it.

Didnt See one Option:

Delete the following Folder:
%appdata% -> Helldivers 2 Folder -> Shader_cache

Use "--use-d3d11" as Launch Parameter in Steam.

I have an XFX 7900 XTX Merc 310. It was basically a crashfest. Like many, I had not overclocked at all. It appears the stock settings on several cards are unstable. If you underclock the core clock to like, 90% or 85% in AMD Tuning tab under performance your issues will most likely vanish. I can even run all settings maxed now, including AA and such. No crashes in recent memory.

It's weird that it doesn't happen in other games, I know. My only explanation is the factory clocks are too aggressive, and other games don't push the card like HD2 does.

I really wish I could get the word out on this fix to more people. Because it seems certain vendors are just clocking their cards too agressively, and if that's the case, it's an industry wide scandal and should not be blamed on Arrowhead at all. Feel free to copy and paste for visibility.

Those drivers do help but don't entirely fix the issue for many of us.

The issue I think is some vendors clock their cards too aggressively even at stock, see my post above.

EDIT: Just realized you are all talking about 6xxx series cards, my info is only verified on 7xxx series.

Tried this, unfortunately did not work. Appreciate the input though

The post said I have those drivers and tried this. Did not help unfortunately. Thank you though

If by "hard crash" you mean a full system shutdown or reboot, I would suspect a PSU issue honestly. If it's just crash to desktop though ignore this.

That is the issue. Overclock doesn't mean going only up but also make more stable your stuff. Read what i wrote and try it out.

I can promise you it's not the PSU, the PC doesn't just shut off like the PSU is forcing it into a shut down, the PC freezes and becomes unresponsive. It remains on but I need to force shut it down and restart it.

I tried reinstalling the AMD driver with the AMD cleanup tool.
I also set Helldivers 2 to launch in steam with the setting " --use-d3d11"

So far had 3 games in a row without issue, earlier i crashed every mission. No clue if it helps, but maybe if u force the game to launch in Dx11 it does help. Who knows. if u find a solution that works better for you,let me know.

€: edit cause i was wrong about overclocking^^

Nope, why would you? Unless you do something to damage it or you try to alter the firmware/card bios ofc...
