Fullscreen doesn't let the game start

Hi,

Playing on Linux with Proton Hotfix, and the game runs perfectly.
The only drawback is that if I leave Fullscreen on in the options, the game doesn't start - what I do is to set to Windowed Fullscreen every time I'm about to quit and then re-enable Fullscreen once I enter the game again.

This seems to be an issue on Windows too (not only on Linux) - wondering when this will be tackled?

How do you manage to get it to work if it gets stuck on full screen and won't start?

Hello, for anyone that happens upon this issue, my method of fixing it was to edit the file in the game's wine prefix:

Steam/steamapps/compatdata/553850/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/Arrowhead/Helldivers2/user_settings.config

and change the fullscreen setting to false:

fullscreen = false

The issue is that the game can not start when it's already in fullscreen and the hotkey does not work when it's in its frozen state, so that does not help.

ah gotcha, yeah I guess that wouldn't be much help. editing the config should do it, like you mentioned. I just figured a solution that you didn't have to edit anything. I haven't tried running the game in linux yet so I don't know any of those issues yet.
