GPU using only 40-50%
i have 3050 ti (mobile) 4gb, ryzen 7 4600H and 16gb RAM.
i know 4 gb of my VRAM is really bad, but core using only half and getiing 30 in tough battles is like... eh? my drivers are new. what can i do to get high GPU usage and stable fps?

I don't have anything currently I could test a theory with, but I'd guess you're seeing lower GPU usage because it's being bottlenecked by 1) low amount of VRAM, 2) possible low storage, 3) possible VRAM being actually system RAM rather than dedicated VRAM which would also of course limit your usable RAM to 10GB instead of actual 16GB.

I have no idea how you've done your in game graphics settings, but try setting following:
- texture quality to lowest possible
- object detail quality to lowest
- terrain quality to lowest
- vegetation and rubble density to lowest

From top of my head these likely have an impact on RAM and VRAM usage.

Of course you could try also turning Steam hardware acceleration off and if you have browser open in the background, and you absolutely don't want to close it (you really should though with those resources and in general as well), turns its hardware acceleration off as well. These could impact VRAM (I don't know for sure if things stay cached in VRAM similarly to RAM, but it's something to consider).

so... i did my graphic settings higher and my avg fps is higher now and GPU usage around 90%. still lagg in big battles though, but its better now. at least its playable and my eyes is not bleeding. im completely DO NOT understand optimization in this game :///

Sounds like a CPU bottle neck,

You GPU usage is lower because the CPU can't keep up with the GPUs frame times,
Basically your GPU outputs frames faster than that CPU can process them.
So it limits your GPU usage to account for it.

maybe. but i tried to on/off cpu boost in settings and i don't see the difference between 2900mghz and 4300. all the difference is that 2900 is 75°, and 4300 is 93:deadsheep:

Hello im using laptop with almost same specs 3050ti 4gb, i5 12gen, 24gb ram. On a 1tb ssd with more than 500gb free space left.

Im getting around 40-50fps but it drops to 20-30 with so much happenings and becomes unplayable at that moment and causes aim delays.

I tried lower reso and other settings but with no help or some other cases im getting lower fps. My best setting is still at 1080p with all settings on lowest.

Can you please share your settings?

1080p with ultraquality render, in graphics all settings on minimum except particles. set em low. sometimes setting textures on ultra give more stable fps somehow, sometimes its not, but it will load ur GPU more obviously.

idk how is the optimiztion in the game rn (didn't play for a long time), but month ago it worked for me.

CPU bottleneck.

Sounds like you aren't using the Dedicated GPU and are instead in some sort of hybrid mode for power conservation.

Who makes your laptop? I can point you to the software for that brand that allows you to flip your MUX switch.

The alternative is...

The fastest way to bypass Nvidia Optimus is to hook up an HDMI display to the laptop's HDMI out port. This should force the use of the Dedicated GPU and you should get much better performance over all.

sounds like a truth. actually, i was thinking the same way. my laptop made by Asus. i saw that G-Helper can help, but in fact there's no button for "ultra mode" for me :winter2019neutralyul:

Here's a guide that helps you switch the game to use DX11, it will give you a framerate boost.

ASUS uses ASUS Armory crate to manage the MUX switch in their laptops as well as power distribution and fan control curves for their laptops.

armory crate is actually kinda sucks imo. This app lagg to much and has a less options than G-Helper

Use G-Helper then, just remember it's not made by ASUS and it's not officially supported.

It is not cpu bottleneck mate. Just because his GPU usage is low doesn't mean it's bottlenecked by the cpu. Not in this case, at least.
