Servers shut down?

Got kicked out from a run with an error stating "Failed to establish connection." Same thing shows up when rebooting the game. Anyone else experiencing this?

Edit: I have looked up Pilestedt's twitter page and found out that he posted 3 minutes after the server closed. Seems that the servers are getting a cap increase!!!

Tuesdays around 6p EST Valve always does maintenance. Takes some services down for a bit.

Same just happened for me. Can't interact with anything on my ship. Friends list shows everyone as 1/4 parties.

and now Quickplay doesnt work anymore... i think it crapped the bed. man i hope this game becomes a lesson to devs and publishers... im sad it is the way it is but... i hope it is used as a lightpost to make other games better, used as an example to not release a mess anymore.

Seems that they're updating the servers, no sources on that however. considering it shut down right at 5 PM CST. Server capacity increase maybe? I'll look into it more.

steam servers back up. already 300K and climbing getting into HD2...that was quick!
