1 problem - Yes this is still a problem and it's extremely frustrating. I keep hearing all the people talking about how much they love the music in this game, yet for whatever reason the devs want me to have to experience drastically music and gameplay.
2 solution - If you want to resolve this temporarily. Windows search - "Microphone Privacy Settings" - "Let desktop apps access your microphone" - Toggle that off and you're good to go. Note that this will disable it for all apps, so if you want to jump on Discord later, remember to re-enable your microphone.
3 alt solution - Change your default microphone on your computer to something else. If you want to retain the ability to use your microphone with other applications, manually set those to your preferred headset but leave your computer's default headset as something else. This will allow you to enjoy all HD audio when in game, and allow you to downgrade the audio if you wish to multi-task and say jump in a discord call mid hell dive.
