Poor performance on high end rig
Game maxes out at 90 fps on my ship and drops to 40 - 60 in actual matches. I have a 4070 Ti Super and a 1920 x 1080 240 Hz monitor. Important thing to note is when I first got the game it ran at 140 fps in ship and 100 - 120 fps in matches. All my other games run at high fps still. Any ideas as to what happened? Help would be much appreciated.

Fullscreen will always give you a higher framerate than windowed modes.

Another trick to gain an fps boost would be to force the game to use DX11 instead of DX12.

Here's a guide for that. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3167233254

Oh alright, changed some graphical settings and can get a stable 90 fps which is playable though not as good as before. Thanks for letting me know it's not an issue on my end.

Same here. Lost a good like 30 fps; used to be at like 60-80 fps during missions and now at like 30-40 fps. Have 4080 with an older CPU. Everything is water-cooled, so temps are always good. GPU and CPU load are actually a significantly lower than a few days ago too.

Yeah, I hear it's an issue on Sony's end, I hope it gets resolved soon.

Same here, Got RTX 4080 SUPER , i9-12900k, I got 40~60fps with every resolution(even on 640*480......) GPU doesn't work at all!
while other games(RDR2, BFV, BF2042, MW3) are running totally fine hitting 120+fps in 4k

Yep, seems to be an issue with Helldivers in the latest update. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

Appreciate this a lot. Frames are much better now

good iam not alone, the last update is a huge perfromance loss, i run around with 40fps, at release it was 100-140fps
Sabrehawk Mar 8, 2024 @ 2:34am
my performance was murdered by last mini patch 3070 TI runs like absolute DOGSHh now. used to have 80+ fps at ultra rendering setting , now its in the cellar as low as 15 to 20 in matches (not all the time though...changing stuff to lower settings does basically nothing).
The Killer Mar 8, 2024 @ 3:05am
Wow, that worked, i went from 40 fps on the ship to 65
on a 1050Ti btw.

I was so demoralized after last patch i thought id lost those precious fps i had before it.
Now i can play it again! gonna test a mission and see what i get there.

(edit) tested multiple missions and its very playable now for me. before the fix it was hard to aim in a firefight, i was probably more dangerous to the teammates than the bugs or bots.

set precision X to always boost mode and instantly saw improvement the game seems not be utilizing the GPU correctly after the update

Hi everyone !

My rig :
  • 4070 RTX SUPER
  • Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9400F CPU @ 2.90GHz, 2901 MHz
  • 16Go RAM

My theory is that the game doesn't use the full power of the GPU and rely too much on CPU (still no DLSS for example).

The thing is if, like me, you didn't have upgraded your CPU to avoid bottleneck yet (My bottleneck results[pc-builds.com]) you're certainly experiencing low fps no matter what graphic settings you set (40 fps on resolution High perf, all the others setting down to minimum. 20 fps on Ultra) or launch command (DX11) or NVIDIA Panel / fulscreen shenanigans

So I don't know if the devs are aware of this, if so are they working on it or is there's no fix and the only solution is to spend 600 bucks on a new combo Motherboard + CPU (it makes playing this game really expensive then x( )

Anyway I'll stay tuned (There seems to be "High rig low fps citizens" here) and keep hope I'll be able to play this game one day, because for now... 40fps with blurry pixels against a baziliion space cockroaches is a FULL NOPE for me.
