Always 3-5% on CPU (7800X3D) load but 95-97% of GPU load (4070TI) with 50° temp and only 1/4 of clock speed - Why?
Hi, I always have 3-5% on CPU (7800X3D) load but 95-97% of GPU (4070TI) with 50° temp and only 1/4 of clock speed. Inst this super weird? Whats the reason for it? I also feel that my system could run higher FPS. I'm currently at 60-70 FPS with mid-ultra settings on WQHD.

There could be some CPU related setting in your BIOS that is causing this.

Try disabling all types of overclocking features that might be enabled in your BIOS & GPU software to see if this helps. If it doesn't, something else is causing it.

1) Percentage is misleading if you have a lot of cores that aren't being utilized by games. Games very much favor single cores and single core performance, despite people talking about otherwise, it's just not that simple. Anyway, if you're maxing out one core, but 20 others aren't being used, that percentage will be skewed.

If it's not skewed, then you'd be weirdly bottlenecked by various things causing the CPU to not be utilized (drive speed, ram, etc)

2) Applications and games don't usually have the power to overload your computer and fry your CPU, for various reasons. You should really look at your cooling solution, air flow, interior room temp, and other factors that would contribute to your PC overheating.

have you been messing around with the pc too much?

Well, I think not. Other games run normally.

My CPU is at 60 degrees my GPU at 45-50 when gaming. So cooling ain't an issue here.

What kind of settings this could be? Actually I think I didn‘t change anything there.

Thanks!
