[Resolved] Game won't load (black screen)

Solution: ran an update on my GPU Drivers (GTX3070ti) and have had no issues since other than a random crash during Pelican pickup cutscene. Best of luck to everyone!

Game started up twice just fine - once on my computer, once on a streaming session from the Steam Deck, played fantastic, 2.5 hours in total. Closed the game, came back after lunch to play some more and now the game loads to a black screen, nothing happens.

Have tried:
Disable Steam Overlay
Disable Steam input
Run as Admin
Run as Admin+Compatibility mode set to Windows 8
Deleting the graphics setting config
Deleting the anticheat and validating files
Validating files
Reinstalling.

Sad.

Game is fun though, hope this one gets prioritized/fixed very soon, itching to get back in and call airstrikes down.

Game was working for me fine just earlier, and now I'm having a similar issue. Black screen at launch, but I can hear the audio and stuff. The intro video and the pod cycling if I skip that. Just can't see anything. Crashes after the pod cycles.

The only thing I've done differently, is last time I played I changed the GPU it was using from my primary to my secondary GPU.

I did have to update my drivers and did a restart and after that it worked, at least once, I gotta go but will try again later and hopefully it keeps working.

Only person I've been able to find with the exact same issue as me, I have literally spent like 20 hours trying to figure this out and I came to the conclusion that within some system32 files with your CPU, there's an AMD .dll named "igd12um64xel" that is named as the problem by the event viewer. They said that there are a bunch of issues with an AMD GPU that could be related. So just going to wait and hope.

I tried a few things, but what ended up fixing the issue for me is the following:
1) Go to %AppData%\Roaming\Arrowhead\Helldivers2
2) Delete the user_settings.config file
3) Start the game.

It made me go through the language/brightness/etc settings setup but then I got in without issue.

I've completely reinstalled the game and that seems to have fixed it (game settings do get reset), could be wort a try for those still having this issue

Same!!! I did that also change the gpu now it's not launching

OMG I have been trying every fix online and this was what happened with mine as well. Seriously, SO grateful dude.

this worked for me. i had to open up a terminal and in my home directory use:

find . -name "user_settings.config" -print

and it is deep down in .local but you can then move it out of the way or delete it. after that, i just went back into game mode and went through the HD2 setup.
