I am and thought I've never had this issue with it before and I am very confident in how I have it set up (with virtual inputs and such) I have been wondering if it is part of the problem. I also just recently looked at the Windows volume mixer and there are two Helldivers 2 entries (both set to the appropriate VM input) but one has the slider locked to the lowest value of "1" and I cannot change it though the other is maxxed out; not sure if that is related or not.
That said, I'm relatively sure VM could be the problem as I see that Helldivers does try to automatically route certain things to AUX and even VAIO3 for some strange reason. Shame there isn't just a sound selection within the audio menus. My fault for having a complex system setup, I guess, but this is the first time I've ever had an issue in like 5 or more years of using VoiceMeeter.
No, I only know they are talking because my friends tell me I'm not hearing them. I get no icon indication they are speaking in game. Others seem to have been able to fix the Voicemeeter issue but I haven't yet.
Can you point us in the direction of some of the fixes?
Well, I was referring to the fixes listed in this discussion:
and
I have seen other posts where these were sufficient to fix the issue but it was not sufficient for me. At this point I think I'll have to wait for them to patch in a audio device selection in-game.
Okay, so I think I just fixed it because I just heard someone in game for the first time ever. I did one of the "set as default communication device" things but this time I did it through control panel > hardware and sound > Sound and applied the default sound and communication device (separately) to the VM VAIO output through that menu. I'd tried that before but I was only doing it through the System > Sound and it didn't seem to work.
I will also note that under System > Sound > Volume Mixer I have the output device set to "VoiceMeeter VAIO" and then all instances of HELLDIVERS 2 have the output set to "VoiceMeeter VAIO" and the input to my microphone.
I guess the fix really is just to make sure that every single thing is set to the output you are using in VoiceMeeter and then make sure that output is set to the default device in the Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound menu not just the "system > sound" menu. Once I had everything lined up it started working... well at least I heard someone once... but they weren't talkative, haha.
These videos might be of help too -- the first one is what gave me pause to try the control panel way:

Good luck, gamers. Wish this could be pinned for all VoiceMeeter Users.
