Friend requests not working

So for about 4 days now my brother (who plays on ps5) and I (play on pc/steam) have been trying to play together, and while we can join random people if we get lucky to find the same mission, we are unable to send friend requests to each other (current one is pending for a day and a half). Has there been any word of a potential fix for this or are we just doomed to not be able to play together (just us)? I personally would just like an invite to squad option without having to have a person on your friends list, makes a lot of sense to just have that option.

I am having the same issue as well.

My steam friends cannot join my games when "Friends Only" is on but I can join their games. When I turn it to "Public" then they can join but not the other setting.

Same issue, can't add friends. Can see the requests but when I click accept nothing happens. Please fix this so I can play with my friends.

same issue, no friend invite sneding or receiving works, they come in but after accepting or getting accepted nothing happens and they aren't shown in friends, isn't isolated to crossplay either, as they seem aware that there are crossplay friends issues, but mine are all on pc and steam, just like I am...

I have same issiue i cant add friends either on pc or PS5 I can recive and send invites but cant accept them and mine friends cant accept mine. Its especially iritating when you meet very nice random person and want to meet with them again :(

Same here... very disappointing and sad to see that they've never even said anything about it so its hard to say how long we have to wait to even play with a friend.

same here, I just want to share some democracy with friends :'(
