Does anyone else's pc heat up until the game crashes?
My processor is trash and my computer is a bottleneck with a geforce RTX 2060 graphics card. All processing power is forwarded to GPU though in Geforce experience control panel.

My processor is an intel core i5 11600KF and sadly, I don't think I can replace it with anything else but an i7. I'm not even sure I can replace it with that. My motherboard is more restrictive.

If you have this too, it'd be nice to know the specs. I see others having hardcrash too sometimes not even getting a report UI popping up.

Same problem, gtx 1080 TI, 32 gigs of ram, Ryzen 5 3600 6 core

Yeah and the minimum is farther below that... it's insane that triple A games are this unforgiving...

The problem I'm having is after 3 games or so. I've lowered the game as much I could before it went potato for some textures and flipped some settings in my nvidia control panel... this game feels broken at launch but like in all the wrong ways. Can't add friends, can't play a game for more than an hour until computer sets fire even though you have the recommended specs WITH an SSD and your computer has already been cleaned recently.

It's just... silly

Have an older system with 8850 and 1070 on a gaming notebook. played rly fine since 3 days ago. Since than, the energy usage is like hell and leeching down my battery within 30 minutes.
Not running into idle or got problems with FPS(60-80)
Other modern games (Forza) didn´t have this problem.

could play the game for several day easy, but even at lowest setup its now sucking like a high class b..h (sorry)

Lol ok so it may not be a gpu problem at all. My computer was only warm this time and I fixed up the settings for optimal performance and even added an fps cap. Game worked as intended up until a certain point in one of the missions. It must be that crash problem people have been talking about but it won't even give me an error report. I've made 2 so far after they prompted me to. The second one was more helpful. Whatever it is I hope it gets fixed soon, that and the friending.

I have better specs with top of the line CPU and GPU and even my system runs on 100%. While I don't have stutters, it's clear some code is not properly using system ressources

This time my pc restarted. I'm starting to get the weirder effects from this. What next file corruption?

Turning my settings down, frame rate cap and changing the direct x level helped it stop from crashing my system. As said above, it is clear some code is not properly using system resources. Shame it has continued this long without a fix. Makes me question the viability of this game and their plans for post release content.

is there a way to change direct x level in game?

You might have already done this, but Vsync on?

Your gpu should be at 100%,that means your fps is limited by your gpu. That is not bad coding by the game. If it's not, you can turn up graphical settings without losing fps.

The random crashing is more likely to just be caused by bugs rather than overheating, since it is not limited to people who have rubbish cooling.

If your PC is over heating, it's not the games fault. Get better/proper cooling.
It will happily run at well over a hundred fps if you've got good hardware. Lowering settings will just make it run faster (more fps) not cooler.

If you want your PC to run cooler, assuming you aren't overclocked, you can set an fps limit below what you are currently getting, limit your gpu power to 75-80% (his will only lose you ~5% performance normally), limit your cpu power/boost profiles, undervolt gpu/cpu at current clocks.

setting power options - maximum processor state to 99% for no Overclock / Turbo-Mode helped for me, no more cpu overheating related game crashes

Nah tried it both on and off. Most likely would keep it off if I put the graphics on low but I did it for both high and low. It wouldn't make much a diff, I've done that for other games too and I've never had tearing...

I did do some tweaking in nvidia control panel and it lowered the heat immensly but in doing so, also caused my pc to restart after the game crashed again. This happens at different intervals but around the same time. I hate that I have a bottleneck especially with an intel i5... those supposedly do not do well in these games... I can't change to another processor either though and buying a new pc after only a couple years of having it will not help budget-wise. Nightingale makes my computer hot and doesn't crash nor restart my pc. I have it on low to medium settings and the rendering looks very similar when on high. I feel like nothing changes within this game though. When changing the game's graphics to low I only find that some textures are lowered to either low quality or potato, not in-between. It's like they're trying to compensate quality for those who want to see it at least a little bit with low specs vs dropping the actual textures for better gameplay and stability. Quite a bad choice if you ask me.
