For me the failure is immediate as per my playtime :/
If so, i might have a work around for you.
TL:DR:
- only works if you have a CPU with embedded GPU AND a separate GPU card
- go to user_settings.config
- change "render_backend = 0" to "render_backend = 1"
- In Game options will still display the embedded GPU, but it will be using the GPU card
- Can confirm that it also works on Windows
I have just switched to Ubuntu and found that since my CPU has an embedded GPU, Helldivers would use the embedded GPU rather than my NVIDIA RTX GPU.
I tried all the fixes online as well and nothing worked, but this worked for me.
- go into the folder:
/SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/553850/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/Arrowhead/Helldivers2
- Open the user_settings.config file.
- Find "render_backend = 0" and change to "render_backend = 1"
This seems to force Helldivers to use the second GPU.
Hope this works for you :)
