Why, why, WHY does dropping a stratagem beacon at your feet have to be so glitchy?

Helldivers 1 had the option to drop a stratagem right at your feet by diving. In Helldivers 2, when you try to drop the hellbomb beacon next to the objective, the physics freak out and the beacon rolls 50m away, where it won't destroy anything.... Can we please just have a "drop the stratagem right here" option? Perhaps the melee button could serve that function?
