Unable to add friends to social

When inputting a friend code the tab just says pending and doesn't change . Anyone else cant add people ?

Also happening to myself and a few friends. We tested some iterations, seems to be happening regardless of if folks are all on Steam and already friended, not friended on PC, or crossplay with one person on ps5. Seeing same issues across several different exact situations and with friends on different platforms.

Social seems completely broken right now, can't accept friend requests, can add friend but always pending. etc

It's maddening. I play with a few friends and have no interest in pick up groups, but my social list is always 0 in game. This means that I have to invite from outside the game in Steam, but if I do that then my in-game setting for "friends only" blocks my friends from joining!

So I set my option to public so my FRIENDS can join. But then the minute I show up on the game grid as a public game, people start joining.

Then my choices are to play a match with people I don't want to play with or be a ♥♥♥♥ and kick so that I can then set my option back to "friends only."

If anyone in the group DCs or crashes, then we have to do this whole dance again.

It's getting really annoying.

Similar issue with me. i bought the game to play with friends a couple days ago, but i just can't seem to add them as friends in game in socials. I can receive friend requests but can't accept them no matter how much i click on it. I can decline the friend request but just can't accept it. (haven't tested block cuz we didn't wanna block each other lol).
We did manage to play together eventually by having them join my game via steam, but other than that, impossible to accept them as friends.
