game crashing on startup

so, i was playing fine and normal up until a couple of hours ago, and now suddenly my game crashes after showing the first image in the trailer. it plays 2 seconds of audio and then crashes. anyone going through this problem as well? any suggestions are appreciated.
already tried:
-compatibility mode
-run as admin
-disable fullscreen optimizations
-firewall + antivirus exceptions
-disable steam input
- -dx11 + -windowed launch commands
-verifying game files
-reinstalling
-uninstalling gameguard
-setting the app as "high performance" in windows graphics settings
-probably some other methods that i forgot to mention because i really tried a lot of s*** and im quite tired of fixing the game for the devs

Im having this same issue and tried all those and its still not working for me. I was able to play until last night and now i cant. For me i could only hear the intro audio and a black screen and it crashes after few seconds. wish someone could help us soon :(

yeah, it's really infuriating. it's not even acknowledged by the devs and a hotfix doesn't seem to be on its way

Same issue. Tried all the fixes and nothing works. This has to be patch caused.

It's working for me now. Press windows+ r , search %appdata% -> select arrowhead folder -> select helldivers2 -> open the user_settings in notepad and set the full screen to False if it is in true and run the game.

If the above fix is not working then delete the user_settings and run the game...it should create a new graphics file and hopefully it will run. For me it was some error in the graphics settings ig and it works for me

fullscreen was already in false, so i deleted the folder. after i booted up the game, i could pick the starting settings (subtitles, text to speech, brightness, crossplay) with no issue whatsoever, but when it gets to the beginning cutscene, the same thing happens. 2 seconds of intermittent audio, then it cuts to black and a crash. thanks for the suggestion though, it was worth a try.
also, just out of curiosity; this doesn't reset my character progress, right? if it does then im probably not playing this game again lmao

go to your device manager, look for AMD high Definiton Audio and disable it. Then try to play. Let me know if that works.

i already had that device disabled, i'll uninstall it just in case and try to check if there are any new drivers for my soundcard

if you already have it disabled, then the issue might be graphics related.

download the vis studio update, and once you do click repair. The try to play. Don't restart your PC if you uninstalled AMD high def driver because the PC will enable it again.

no it doesnt reset ur character progress just the settings

Ok so it might not be a missing file issue. Have you tried playing from the lowest settings?

i was already playing with really low settings, i doubt that's the issue.
