If you crash, USE DX11
Just like a lot of developpers out there, unfortunately, Arrowhead has proven to lack the dedication and competence to stabilize a DX12 based game.
I've been using DX11 since for me it was crashing 100% 10 to 30 minutes into the game.
So in the steam command launch options write --use-d3d11
It has solved the crashing for me - it was only crashing some time after someone left the game but I have not had that issue in a day. So for now, it seems NOT to crash with DX11.

Please keep in mind. Your hardware is not the problem as long as you are within the minimum specs. There is no setting, no BIOS update, no sorcery that can solve these crashing issues because the fault is on Arrowhead, simple as. If this game is the only game of your library to crash, then the game is the problem not your hardware. So save yourselves the trouble and either wait or try DX11 as I've explained.
And if DX11 still doesn't work then just like too many releases the past few years, "wait for it to be patched"...

Yeah that's how I got it to work before this last awful patch. Now if I remove --use-d3d11 , I can play for about 5-10 minutes before crashing. If I leave the --use-d3d11 parameter it will open a black screen and then close. It interesting that it's still working on some pcs, but not others.

Yeah that's odd, even today I managed to play with no crashes with DX11, like yesterday
but then before that it was crashing with DX11 10 to 20 minutes after someone leaves the game
Either way it's not anyone's hardware that's at fault

Hey man, just wanted to give a huge thank you and shout out for this suggestion. Not only did forcing the game to launch with DX11 stop the crashes, it seems overall, more smooth. Frame rates seem more stable and I can run the game on higher detail with less impact on performance. Played for over 2 hours and about 3 drops with no issues whatsoever. So, seriously, thanks a ton my dude! See you on the battlefield!

So it was the patch? I just got the game yesterday and am about ready to get a refund. If it is just a patch issue than I can hold off

Just a hunch. Go to your device manager and check if you have AMD sound drivers installed. If you do uninstall them. This fixed thee game for me. I'm on an AMD system too
