Crash FIX for 13th and 14th Gen Intel CPUs
I run an Asus ROG Strix Z790-H mobo with a 14th gen 14900K cpu not seriously OC'd. Just using the AI auto boost up to 6GHz for P-cores and 5.4GHz for E-cores. 4 sticks (64GB) Vengeance DDR5 at 5200 MHz no XMP (because it's 4 sticks) and an RTX 3080ti gpu

Here is what worked for me..

I started aggregating CPU voltage measurements and usage while trying to play the game. What I saw was every time the game crashed, which was every time I played, my CPU power would spike. Like really spiked, milliseconds before the crash event. I checked in my bios and found that the max cpu current or amperage was auto to 533.17A. That is WAAAAY more than needed amps for up to 6GHz. I capped it down to 350 which is plenty for not trying to OC the cpu.

After doing this one change, I prevented my cpu current from spiking up too rapidly for the input voltage and have established stability. mind you, this should not be needed and Helldivers 2 is the only game I run that crashes like it does. Am willing to bet I would not see these power spikes with other games/apps either.

My contention is the game has a bug in the code since recent updates causing these cpu power spikes and at least for folks with 13th and 14th gen cpus with AI controlled boosting, this is detrimental.

If you have one of these CPUs and are not overclocking, I suggest you try to cap your cpu current at 300-350 depending on the boost clock you are running and possibly even setting your power limits PL1 and PL2 to something like 280. Leave your voltages alone.

If you are overclocking you need to determine what cap is enough for your settings if you have manually overclocked but I would say you won't need anything over 400 for your cpu current unless you are achieving close to 7GHz which I seriously doubt. Maybe you won the silicon lottery? In any event check your voltages and only increment by .003 to .005 at a time and try to keep it below 1.4v. if you go beyond that you are more knowledgeable and braver than I so you don't need my advice.

You won't damage your system with these changes since you are underpowering nor will you lose boost clock speeds or cpu performance but it just might help you be able to play this game for more than 10 minutes until they fix their code.

All that said, this is what seems to have worked for me and my setup. I just played 7 missions start to finish without crashing versus before where I'd crash any where from game launch to 10 minutes into a mission randomly. I still saw the power spikes but since they were capped at 350A the system remained stable. Hope this helps some folks.

One other thing; If you have been experiencing constant crashing, it would not hurt to go ahead and run

powershell dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth

to see if there are any corrupted component store items.

If there are, then run this to repair those.

powershell dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

I had constant crashes in Remnant 2 and fixed it with the Intel Tuning app, and it is working aswell with Helldivers. I am not a hardware pro but I guess is something similar to what you are saying and perhaps can help:

"--Out Of Memory when Loading (Intel 13th generation CPU’s)--
We have identified an issue on some Intel 13th generation CPU’s where upon startup the game will display a message about being out of video memory or the crash reporter will pop up referencing an issue with decompressing a shader. If you experience this problem, you will likely also see it in other DX12 games.

If your CPU is overclocked, try setting it back to the defaults. If you’re not overclocked or that doesn’t work, try installing Intel Extreme Tuning Utility:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/17881/intel-extreme-tuning-utility-intel-xtu.html and lowering your “Performance Core Ratio” from 55x to 54x."

I went into my bios and changed my cpu clock ration from 56 to 55 and didn't have any problems for several hours straight.

Remnant 2 ran pretty much without problem for me. Helldivers 2 not at all - so many crashes.

It looks like it's not just an intel fix because underclocking my amd cpu worked for my crashes. 20 Hours in and only 2 game crashes (with the sony error report - 1 had driver error but did not reset my settings as usual w/o underclock)

good tips ! already tried and no happy ending for me ... The game still crashes right after the launch ... No more HD2 for me since every solutions aren't working :'(
