Game crashes at tutorial loading screen

Thanks for help in advance.

My CPU is an AMD Ryzen 5 4600G with Radeon Graphics. I checked online and Helldivers 2 should be able to run on my PC, albeit with lower-end settings. However, currently the game crashes as soon as it hits the loading screen before the tutorial (at least I think it's the tutorial, never got that far). The screen with all the information on right after the pre-rendered cinematic. The most I get is the yellow circle spinning before it stops and the game quits.

The cinematic also chugs in slow motion, with the audio at normal speed.

I discovered spamming escape takes me to a start screen but it cuts back to loading before I get a chance to change any of the display settings.

I've tried all the solutions, changing the launch settings in steam, compatibility mode, removing steam overlay, but nothing makes any difference.

Sometimes I get a memory error message (grey box with lots of zeros, "press ok to terminate program) but not every time.
If could just get to the start screen and change the settings so it'd run in 640x480 or something I think it'd be fine but there's no way to do that it seems, so I'm turning to the hivemind for some solutions.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
