Content File Locked - Only in Helldivers 2
My download page says "Content File locked" after the newest patch download. Therefore preventing me from downloading. However it currently loops repeatedly for downloading & patching and producing "Content File Locked". Only this game has managed to produce that error. Anyone have problems with this as of late?.

Also I have tried doing Running Steam As Admin, Clear Download Cache, those parts have not worked. Do I just need to re install the game?

I had this issue, uninstalling the game and redownloading sorted it out.

Getting same issue now, omfg fix your damm game! I've owned it for like 3 weeks now and yet to do anything sides the tutorial and 1 solo mission due to bugs..12 hours played according to Steam and virtually all of it was trying to actually play the game. Last time it was matchmaking bugs not allowing me to join others or they join me now the game won't even update?!

I managed to fix this by exiting steam, then using sysinternals process explorer to kill the process tree for any Handle that had the file "\steamapps\common\Helldivers 2\bin\GameGuard\npggNT.des" open. I searched for Helldivers 2 in process explorer, and it brought up some processes that had that file locked open. After killing the process tree, (or just kill the process if it won't kill process tree), I started Steam up again and the update ran fine.

Found an answer on the Steam subreddit from several years ago - try closing out Steam and running it as an administrator. Fixed the issue for me.

Verifying files and running Steam as admin doesn't work...

I was able to fix this problem by resetting the Windows Socket API.
Open the command prompt in Administrator Mode and type:
netsh winsock reset
Hit enter and then reset your computer.

If that doesn't work, try one of the other ones on this article:

Process explorer helped me find it. I had 2 processes named 'Getappx' (something like that) that was keeping gameguard open. Killed them and problem solved
