Any legit fix for screen tearing
Running this on my Ryzen 7 7800x3d and Radeon RX 7900 GRE, runs like a champ and I can run the game maxed out without a hitch. However, screen tearing is pretty crazy, and can’t seem to get vsync or frame limiting to prevent that from being a problem. It’s not something I usually notice in the middle of normal gameplay but it is very noticeable particularly in between when I’m on the ship. Any suggestions?

You using the Adrenaline software or in game settings?

Heard the in game settings are buggy.

I haven’t tried the Adrenaline setup, I might mess with that.

if you set your FPS cap to = to or lower than your screen's refresh rate it will fix this without enabling V-sync. If you haven't already bump up your refresh rate. It defaults to 60 hz usually. You gotta bump it up.

I will admit i'm more impressed you can run this game fast enough without a CTD or BSOD considering i had to reduce my max frequency by 30%, put a 10% higher floor to the freq, and set power modifier to -3, most setting on only high, and a hard cap in game of 60 FPS (well below screen tearing range in my system). Power and freq mods were done in adrenaline to clean up crashes for good on my 7900 XTX. This game for whatever reason HATES my GPU. I set up a game profile so i don't have to manually adjust every time at launch or swapping to another game.

If you have an AMD GPU you can goto their website and download adrenaline (not too sure about the spelling but you'll find it). This is what I use for my 5700xt AMD GPU.

Nvidia has their own program if you has their GPU.

I have crazy screen tearing on my pc monitor and tv, but when I switch to my projector the resolution is automatically set to I think 1080p (same resolution the game runs at), but also (unlike the pc monitor and tv) to 244hz. My projector runs at 60hz (it can run at a higher frequency but I don't know how to turn that on), so this doesn't even make sense, but the game runs 100% smoothly (capped at 60fps). I'm a console player, so I don't know what this means (sorry 😅), but hopefully this might help someone find a solution 🤞

Did you turn on vsync or freesync?

Vsync was not available until recently but now they do have it.
