And yeah, Explorer.exe had blown up. Not just for me though, for the person I was also in a squad with. Same problem.

Has this continued to happen? Or did you find any potential solutions?

Same issue here except the Faulting process id: is 0x0x1000

Can you go into any more detail? Is it repeatable, what recreates it? Is it in game or while launching? As much detail as you can to help, for example a crash was happening when some players used the arc throwers, so is there any link in game like that? Also can you post specs of PC just in case? Small details can be very helpful sometimes.

I can't promise a solution but I'm willing to look into it some for you if I'm capable.

Don't go over 2 hours and refund might be the best option if it won't launch.

Not explorer.exe specifically but several other oddities, all down to GameGuard. The strangest one is that it crashes, Event Viewer entry to match and causes the Steam client to lose network connection...but the rest of the PC is fine. After about 40-60 seconds, Steam reestablishes connection, or restarting it does the same. Had that specific issue multiple times and like this one, it affected other people in the team too, so their PCs.

Same issue with me, been like this for about 2 weeks now. Game used to run completely fine. But now its unplayable.

The last two crashes in event viewer are below.

It happens every time when you launch the game. On the first crash you get to be in the ship for about 5 seconds before it CTD's. Then on subsequent launches of the game, the CTD's get faster and you crash before the intro. Tried absolutely every fix suggestion, nothing worked so far.

I can't promise solutions but someone said they fixed an issue in another comment about ntdll.dll report I'll share just incase it works for you.

Just fixed it for myself, that's what I did: turn off steam and discord overlays, turn off hardware acceleration for both and turn off steam input for helldivers just to be sure.

I also have a post here that also may not help but it's some stuff from online regarding to those issues may be worth trying.

This is a report of win 7 solved

Method 1: Update Windows

Click Start button, and look for Control Panel.
Click System and Security, and select Windows Update.
Click Check for updates and click Install updates.
If you are experiencing the same after performing Windows Update try reinstalling the DLL.

Method 2: Reinstall the DLL

Type cmd in the search box, and then right click Command prompt select Run as Administrator.
Type this in command prompt:
regsvr32.exe /u ntdll.dll and press Enter key (this will uninstall the file)
regsvr32.exe ntdll.dll and press Enter key (this will reinstall the file).

Or a video of solution in Win 10/11

Hope this may help overall!

It is unlikely win 10 is put of date but I have seen 1 person say they apparently were stuck on an old update and didn't have dx12 support on their version, so it is worth checking still if you aren't sure. Let me know if you try any of these and I they solve it, so if others have it I know a go to solution.

I've been crashing to desktop as soon as I enter the game or up to a minute after since the update last week had no problems before this. I have updated my drivers and both verified and reinstalled the game. The event view gave me the following id but I am not great at understanding these even with google. Any ideas?

"c0000005 usually caused by the computer not being able to correctly process the files and settings required to run a particular program or installation."

You could try turning off your firewall just to see if that resolves it, normally don't see crashes related to it but VPNs or other open applications as well having them off, its not impossible it's the anti cheat disabling the launch, altough normally that results in a different error pop up. I did see someone recently who solved an issue they had with firewall though worth a shot.

Ntldll unregister doens't work on Win 11, no associated unregister to the DLL. Seems the only way to legit reinstall that dll is to basically reinstall windows/perform a reset.
KingOfFriedChicken Apr 17, 2024 @ 12:53pm
Ah, I don't have win 11, I see windows likes making things worse still with each "upgrade" lol
