Game Crash on Selecting Mission

So, my game now crashes when I am at the map screen selecting a mission. It's not a loading issue on my end and seems 100% server side as I am, in fact, able to load the game properly (and get out of the glitch) by high jacking off of a friend who is playing and loading into their game and playing for a while. Unfortunately, the crash 100% happens again while playing solo.

Crash seems to occur while it's "downloading" the screen preview image box thing. Again... 100% server side.

POSSIBLE FIX: Run the game in admin mode direct from the install folder and not from Steam. Also run in combability mode for Windows 8. I saw this on YouTube, tried it and it worked for me.

I fixed the problem by switching from public to friends only, and playing a planet solo first. I did the driver update prior and switched off cross play aswell. I also went into tutorial after switching on friends only, then left back to ship once in tutorial. Played a planet solo, then switched back to public and its working. Let me know if this helped.

Hello everyone, I've experienced this problem yesterday and apparently stumbled onto a solution!

First, to describe what I was dealing with: My game was locked to a group of missions(every time I logged back in, they would already be selected in the ship map), and any time I interacted with the mission select my game would crash. I would also not be able to see my friends in social (as in, with 1/4, 2/4 etc. info, I could see they were online) and thus could not join them.

Fix: I created a second steam account and library shared my games on my PC, once my second account got to their ship I left, logged out and that apparently had fixed my problem on my main account.

Food for thought: When logging out from the alt account I saw that steam cloud had an error message, maybe the problem is related to it? just speculation.

i got this game about 4-5 days ago and during that time my game was running fine fps stable nothing crashing but earlier today it just randomly started crashing when i tried starting up a mission

ive tried updating my driver (twice), running steam and the game as admin, uninstalling and reinstalling, and verifying game files as well as repairing files, and still am only able to play in a friends lobby, tutorial worked fine and playing with friends is fine.

It might be a new bug introduced with the most recent patch. The team has been pretty good about updating and fixing stuff, but it takes them some time. I suggest trying to join a friend directly and let them host and see if you still crash on load at that point... Or just being patient, as bad as that sounds. It was certainly frustrating when I went through it.

It's the same for me. Just started last night at 1:30 AM mountain time. Trying everything out but most hasn't worked yet.

Turn off Hardware Acceleration on Discord, Steam and your Internet Browsers. Also disable Discord Game Overlay. Hope this helps!
