Does it start? As in black screen, audio, etc.
It runs that nt guard what not thing, goes black then immediately kicks to desktop and steam launcher.
Delete the game settings. They are here:
%APPDATA%\Arrowhead\Helldivers2
Deleting those files didn’t help me unfortunately.
The whole folder or just settings.dat?
All of it. This will reset your game settings.
Yes, but it's the wrong bitness. 0xc000007b is bad image format. You get this when a 32-bit process tries to load a 64-bit DLL and vice versa.
That said, there are other crashes not related to this DLL that obviously this won't fix. But I've seen numerous cases where this run-time is the issue.
One common troubleshooting step I would try, besides this and deleting app data, is deleting the GameGuard folder in Helldivers 2 install, as well as the GameGuard.des file in the bin folder. Then validate the install in Steam. GameGuard should ask to uninstall, click yes.
The GameGuard folder is brought down when it updates on game launch. The *.des files are DLLs. Not sure why they did the cute rename thing.
But, again, if you do see error 0xc000007b you are having a bitness issue (32/64 bit). That means the DLL does exist, it just isn't the right format.
I'd be interested if it's NOT this file. But all times I've seen this error it was MSVCR110.dll oddly enough.
