If your PC is shutting down, it's one of two reasons. One, a overheat issue. You might not think you're overheating, but you'd be surprised just how many people don't know that most games now adays have no frame cap. On loading screens, or sitting idle, your GPU would be working WAY harder than it should be.

Two, Powerdraw issue. This can be linked to unlimited frames and might be asking more of your PSU than it can provide.

Solution?

Make sure your FPS is capped for one and two, do a benchmark (Outside the game.) to ensure there is no hardware related issues lingering about.

its definitely not a heating issue? where is frame cap? in settings?

The game doesn't have an FPS cap limiter tmk. You have to do it in your GPU control panel. It's suggested you set your FPS limit in that panel to your monitor's refresh rate. It avoids any issues like that in the future.

Crashing to desktop is one thing if you are getting BSOD or full system shut downs there maybe something to look at on your machine.

It does seem like a powerdraw issue, but I don't think it's fps related. For me it happens when returning from a mission. My system isn't overheating and the fps is locked at 60. I was suspecting my PSU being faulty at first, but more and more people are reporting the same issue.

I think there is a memory leak in the game. It would explain the crashing and the random behaviour of some people's PCs

BSOD is a common occurrence, right now with this game. The kernel level anti-cheat is a sensible culprit due to it's low level access but it's too new of an issue for anyone to be sure. Seems to happen more commonly with AMD equipped computers from my reading today. Though i had hard lock earlier with an intel/nvidia rig, so who tf knows at this point. Hopefully the devs can find out the issue and address it, there's even reports of motherboards bricking due to all inputs ceasing to work + cmos pulls not doing anything.

Unfortunately there's a lot of fanboying going on that's trying to deny it because... sad, but it's all over the steam boards, reddit, and other discussion forums. smoke there's fire.

I am currently experiencing this. What did you guys do? In all the games I've played, including God of War, The Last of Us, and Alan Wake 2, I have never experienced a random shutdown; but this game causes my computer to randomly shut down even I set it on medium graphics.

i5 13500
RX 7600

And FYI I capped my FPS to 60.

I had a super bad crash which restarted my pc not a fan of that I turned off my auto overclock & I've never had that real bad crash again.
But other than that just the constant game crash so many people are dealing with I can't even get through a whole mission.
