Horrible FPS with GeForce RTX 3060 on lowest settings
My gaming laptop has the following specs:

12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700H, 2700 Mhz, 14 Core(s), 20 Logical Processor(s)
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 16.0 GB
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU w/6GB memory
Available SSD Space 446.53 GB

very disappointed. anyone have any clue what might be the issue? My rig should be able run this game without any issues - but the FPS is unplayable. I've closed all other apps, unplugged extra monitors, and closed everything in my system tray. Nothing else but the game is running... and sadly it's unplayable. Nvidia drivers are up to date too.

Hey, I'll chime in here. First, let's ignore the guy who said gaming laptops aren't ideal for gaming. He has no clue what he's talking about.

So here's my experience: I have a desktop small form factor PC I built with an RTX 4060 in it (desktop size). Ran HD2 very well, 1440 with decent framerates and good settings, even when using native resolution. Unfortunately the game started crashing like crazy to the point where it became unplayable... and that's where the 3060 comes in.

I bust out my Asus G14 w/ an RTX 3060 and an AMD 5900HS. And HD2 runs like dirt, even with much lowered settings. From a performance perspective, the 3060 mobile isn't THAT far behind a 4060 desktop. I shouldn't get playable 1440 framerates with high settings on a 4060 desktop then average around 45 fps with low settings at 1080 on my 3060 mobile. Something is definitely off. Not sure what though.

Yea, the game has terrible optimization and is in need of a major pass soon.

I run a R9 5900x with a 3080ti 12GB and I load into mission at 90 but regularly have fps drops down to 50 when things get chaotic and it’s incredibly jarring and sickening for me, as those kind of fps drops I’m quite sensitive to.

Terribly optimized, search the HD2 reddit for guidance. One talks about "properties" in the steam library. Following a few of things there I've been able to get Native play with minimal issues, all low except textures (GTX 1070 laptop for context)

I have the same Issue, The game refuses to use my GPU at all, 0% or 1% with Copy, doesn't use the 3D engine for some reason since the last patch, I was running it just fine before it.

show us more info, gpu utilisation, graphic settings and etc. 3060 laptop actually not so strong card if you tried to high\max settings, it wont work. on 3070ti laptop 150w i got 70+ fps only on low\mid with native 1440

I play 1440p high settings with 3800xt, 3080ti 12gb, 32gb ram. can barely maintain 60fps in multiplayer missions. :steamsad:

3070 TI , 8700k 5ghz pre patch performance 80+ fps at 5120x1440 ultra to medium settings

post patch , UNPLAYABLE GARBAGE FPS drop down to 15 , the card isnt even maxed out same goes for gpu....

I wonder why the game still runs smooth on my machine. Probably just the raw power.

But your laptop is still simply not a good solution to play demanding games on. Hardware lowers its output power to keep temperatures and tolerable levels. For laptops that means the lack of efficient cooling will always bottleneck you.

I'm glad I'm not the only friend, I really try everything but I've had serious serious problems... it's a game that I like and it honestly makes me sad to have these problems... I have a 3060ti rz 7 5800x and 64g of ram... .the game is on an m.2 so... I don't lack muscle but this game ended up crashing causing serious problems and recordings having to restart the PC because it cannot be recovered.

I'm sporting a 1080ti/i7-6700k at 1440p and no matter what settings I choose, no matter if it's native or FSR, nothing seems to let me stable my 50fps cap, or even allow me to reach 72fps cap.

This is so far the only game in the past decade that has acted this bad. I've played games from Sony like Horizon Zero dawn/Days gone and manage to easily hit 60-72fps caps without issues, and other games as well, but this game, this one game doesn't seem to do anything no matter the setting (and no, before anyone strolls in with claims that it's super demanding, because it's not Star citizen, it's an AA game and it has to run on PS5, which sports weaker parts than what the PC market currently has).

Devs seriously need to look into the PC side for performance/networking issues, because I am starting to regret buying this game, and I'm beyond the refund point.

Some of those guides keep muttering "use DX 11", and trying that just makes things far, far worse. This game was created with DX 12 from the beginning. Games around 6-7 years ago still had DX 11 in mind, but most AA/AAA games are now designed with DX 12 from the start, and not DX 11, so anyone still parroting "force DX 11" are fundamentally wrong and make things worse with misinformation.
