Console auto close after first input
Hello,
in the game i have tp press E to activate some consoles (call the rescue ship, disable a radio tower, and so on). If i press E the game shows me the sequence i have to type. my problem, after i press the first key (a,s,d,w) the console auto close.
i have to press E again and press the next button (a,s,d,w), after this, the console close again.

if i have to type 8 arrows, i have to press E 8 times. that realy sucks if you are under heavy fire :-)

Anybody know a solution for that?

Hi! That sounds annoying and definitely not how it is supposed to work! Are you using a non-QWERTY keyboard by any chance? I would love to know more so I can ask some people to look into it!

Hi 76561199634380757,
i am using a logitech G910. It´s a german keyboard (qwertz). The input for a stratagem isnt a problem.

i dont know if it helps, if i press E, the console open, when i m pressing A.S,D,W the game show at the console the button i pressed AND the character moves a little bit. i think the console closed, because i moved.

Work Around: I play with keyboard, if i have to enter a console sequence, i take my xbox controller and use the D-Pad. thats work fine.

That's not a great solution though! As far as I know the character should not move while you are interacting with a console!

Could you make a support ticket through our website so we can look into it?

I have been encountering this too. I'm glad it appears to be a bug and not intended gameplay.

My keyboard is a Steelseries Apex Pro

DeivyBrots has it right, i was using my mouse/keyboard but had a controller plugged in, once i unplugged the controller it stopped having this issue.

i assume this is caused by the difference in input... for controller its hold button then input directions, but for keyboard its press once then input directions.

Same thing here, DeibyBrots seems to be right indeed.

I use a pretty standard desktop COMPAQ keyboard (French/AZERTY), USB connected. I would have been surprised if a driver conflict or such was responsible for the issue the OP described. Disconnected my controller however, and it seems to have worked.

Mind you it was not instant: I forgot to unplug it before launching the game, played the tutorial until the screendial section (flag), only to see that the bug persisted because the controller was still plugged. HOWEVER: unplugging it on the spot did not solve the issue on this instance, the bug persisted. I quit the game and relaunched it without the controller, got back to the same sport, and then the screendialling looked like it worked as intended. Maybe just reinitiating the mission after having unplugged the controller would've done the trick, but I wouldn't know.

Bottom line is: yes, having a controller plugged in seems to somehow create a conflict when dialling on consoles with a keyboard. Yes, unplugging it seems to do the trick, but this does not seem to work "on the fly". Be mindful of it when your launch your game, then.

I hope this helps users, and can help the team in solving this problem as well.

My controller in this case is a Razer Tartarus Pro, which I use for, shock horror, playing shooters. Unplugging it is not an option. :/

I get very slow viewpoint drift as well. I thought it was supposed to be cinematic but I think it's related.

Found a fix that worked for me. In Options - Controller - Deadzone, crank it to max (0.99) and it stopped the drift and the console disconnections for me.

i've been experiencing this issue also, trying to call the shuttle and trying to use any console where i have to input the arrows shown. Strategems work as they are supposed to, but im really surprised that there was no part of the tutorial that required me to call a shuttle or activate something by inputting some arrow sequence (not strategems)

Hi, same problem, any input i enter for any terminal tells me its wrong, and everytime i lauch the game, my controls get reset. i have to keep rebinding them. i have a azerty keyboard.

Maybe instead of adding Youtubable features you could add a real keyboard support like any game have? this is a realy gamebreaking issue, that i have SINCE LAUNCH, i can't play alone and if im the last Helldiver alive im stuck and can't do anything. thx
