Game won't start from steam launch.

I pre-bought the game and downloaded it. Woke up this morning and went to start it with nothing happening. It will start for 2 seconds, then steam resets it. The game won't boot at all. Please help.

you should have "steamworks common redistributables" installed it would be in your steam library under the Tools category, I'm pretty sure it provides all the packages you would require. But looks like you got it working.

Had the same issue, you need to have Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 4. Older or newer versions won't work, though you can have the newer ones along side this one, but the faq says that older versions might be causing this problem too.

I was able to play some hrs before i had the identical problem.
In the later mentioned folder, i found the crash dump data including some hints of the type of crash => CRS client exception

i tried to delete the config files (saves-folder and user_settings.config) in C:\Users<USER>\AppData\Roaming\Arrowhead\Helldivers2 and it starts again

Before i tried this, i reinstalled both HD2 and the anticheat software, rebootet etc.
It may not be the solution for your problem, but i hope i can help some folks to at least try :D

The steam start button wasn't working for me. It would go blue for 2 seconds, and then revert to green start button. Tried everything, but it was this reply that clued me into what turned out to be the issue for me. When I went to the Arrowhead folder, it still had my original Helldivers folder "..\Helldivers" rather than "..\Heldivers2". I deleted the save files from the folder, renamed it Helldivers2, and the game launched no problem.

And download the x64 file and install it.

2.) Go to windows\system32 and scroll down until you see MSVCR110.dll and COPY IT

3.) Go to Steam, right click on Helldivers 2 click properties, go to installation files, my path is the following (D drive is custom it will be different for you most likely)

D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Helldivers 2\bin

then paste the MSVCR110.dll file in there

4.) Run the application Helldiver 2 as admin it will ask to install the game guard or what ever the crap this is called.

I had rebooted, run Steam as admin (did not try the changing of the .exe to run as admin or compatibility mode) - still didn't work however, downloading the above (from Microsoft, so a safe site, thanks!) and it worked!!
