Game won't start from steam launch.

I pre-bought the game and downloaded it. Woke up this morning and went to start it with nothing happening. It will start for 2 seconds, then steam resets it. The game won't boot at all. Please help.

Hey everyone. I know this might sound stupid but i also had these issues and a simple restart fixed them for me. I looked for a bunch of ways to fix it with not luck. Happened to need to restart the PC anyways and it worked?
I hope its as simple a fix for you all.

Edit: Others have basically summarized in the posts here what worked for me. Download the missing DLL and run game as admin.

I was able to play some hrs before i had the identical problem.
In the later mentioned folder, i found the crash dump data including some hints of the type of crash => CRS client exception

i tried to delete the config files (saves-folder and user_settings.config) in C:\Users<USER>\AppData\Roaming\Arrowhead\Helldivers2 and it starts again

Before i tried this, i reinstalled both HD2 and the anticheat software, rebootet etc.
It may not be the solution for your problem, but i hope i can help some folks to at least try :D

Crashes at launch cinematic for me since the latest update couple of hours ago, was working fine before btw.

I had this issue not sure if it was mentioned but worth a shot. If you see the game start up you see the anti cheat modal and then the screen goes black and then you're back on your desktop its the anti cheat and anti virus. First ensure your anti virus has the game added to the exceptions (Avast Antivirus hates this game for me), if you have that, delete the folder for the anti cheat and start the game up. The anti cheat will re-download itself. I hope this helps .
