AMD 7000 Series Driver Timeouts
Chime in here if you have a 7000 series AMD GPU with driver timeouts (7900 XTX myself).

Disable RTX in graphics settings. Global lighting

7800XT here, game ran fine for a few hours and crashed randomly while in mission since then.
first when game crashed discord crashed with it, disabled discord hardware acceleration and now discords stays up when Helldivers goes down.

Reportedly, switching SSGI and AA off from the settings menu of the game fixes the crashing for AMD.

hasnt fixed mine still crashes inconsistently (7900xtx)

Try turning the settings to low then and see if this helps.

If it does, you can then put each setting higher one at a time, see if it causes a crash, until you find the setting that does. Then just keep that/those settings low or off.

Hardware accelerated software in the background is a known cause for AMD driver timeout errors, yes.

You should disable this setting in anything you run in the background, internet browsers have the setting too, so does Steam.

For driver timeouts try to catch your clock frequency on the overlay as the crash is happening, then you know your upper limit. Manually tune clock frequency in adrenalin to something lower, for me I use 2750MHz. Driver updates will reset custom tuning, so remember to re-do after updating. I have had no driver timeouts in any games with my 7900xtx since implementing that change 5-6 months ago.

Just started Helldivers and made it through tutorial but crashed after 6 steps on the first mission, all settings maxed. Heard a rumor somewhere else so I went back to Adrenalin and set the game to run at 60 fps min/max. RadeonChill must be enabled to limit FPS...took me a minute to find it. Left all graphical settings alone except disabled AA. Played a full mission with my buddies and crashed 2/3ds through our second. Was able to jump back in no problem and still got all rewards.

Not perfect yet, but works for now.

7900XTX. I get a crash every 15-30 minutes for driver timeout. I'll try a few of the graphics options people are recommending here.

Hoping for either a driver update or fix from the developers soon.

Same here, got a 7900xtx. The crashes are so constant that I cannot even finish the mission without crashing

This is 100% some disconnect between the game and the drivers. My clock speeds are all default, and I've got an aggressive fan curve so my GPU never gets over 80°. I haven't had a gpu driver crash in months, not since this GPU series was still only a few months old. Every game I play runs perfectly smooth. Helldivers is the only game that causes this behavior right now, and it causes it consistently.

The patch doesn't help, in case anybody was wondering.

Just throwing this out there in case it helps anyone, I've had 2 multi-hour sessions without crashing on my 5800X3D and 7900XTX after the following settings changes:

In AMD Adrenaline Control Panel:
Disabled all basic graphic enhancement settings on the Helldivers 2 profile except for Anti Lag and Enhanced Sync

In game:
Made sure render resolution is set to native, disabled screen space global illumination, and disabled antialiasing.

For those having the random PC power down going on, can anyone confirm their CPU temperatures before it happens? I'm noticing the game is spiking my CPU temperatures abnormally high. For reference, w/Skull and Bones open (along with FFXIV, don't ask why) I am within a 75-80C range (Air cooled).

With Helldivers 2 active (just itself) I'm noticing temperatures mid to high 80s. 85-90C.

7900XT same issues, tried a million different options / ideas and no joy.

Next time maybe they will do some internal testing on AMD GPU's before they release the game, but probably not.

Such a joke since the PS5 is literally running an AMD chipset as well
