Not Launching

Did they really delete our post asking for help to get the game to launch?! I can't get past the play button. Just a black screen then back to desktop. Come on. Help us out here!

If any of you guys is running on Windows 11, Try in you steam library, to right click Helldivers 2, click proberties, go to Controller tab and "Disable Steam input".. I had the exact same problem with the black screen, but disabling steam controller input fixed it for me :)

Regarding anti-cheat (which is the most likely issue)

If you have ANY programs that can screen capture like: Screen to Gif or other programs. Anti-cheats won't let you open the game until they are uninstalled. May not be for everyone. But usually solves the issue for me.

Here's a possible fix if the game is not launching at all (If you get a MSVCR110.dll is missing error when trying to launch the exe directly):

Go here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679
Click Download and pick "VSU_4\vcredist_x64.exe" then click download again
Run the downloaded file and click "Repair" (Or install if it's not already installed)

Once finished try running the game again.

This fixed it for me.

I could finally try the game and refund it because it's not for me lol.

Bet you half of you never bothered to update video/audio drivers.

Also don't do this..... it can mess up programs that use older versions
