Here's are the known issues that we can see you are experiencing, however it is not exhaustive. Right now we are collecting all the issues as they come in and we are working on the most severe affecting core gameplay.

Here's an update from our Deputy Game Director on what's happened so far:

Sagar here, the Deputy Game Director on Helldivers 2. I know there are a number of issues severely affecting gameplay. In this post, I want to share details about some of the most important ones at the moment, what we understand about them, and what you might be able to do. What you’ll see here is not exhaustive; we are also tracking further items beyond this list.

We know that these are big, real issues, and if you get hit by them, it can be immensely frustrating. We are going to make this right. We want you in the galaxy as soon as possible, liberating planet after planet.

Thank you so much for all the work you’ve put into making this the fun, welcoming community of fellow Helldivers we love. It really makes all the difference to us. Every time we see a video of people shooting an unexploded Hellbomb, every time we see you having a surprise 4 minute extraction, and every time we watch a Bile Titan squash you with extreme prejudice… it warms our hearts.

Quickplay not working

The Problem:
This is one of our most significant issues in the game right now. It manifests itself when you attempt to join a mission at the War Table on the ship, and you see a “Failed to join game lobby” message.

Why It Happens:
There’s a problem with how we’re finding valid matches for you, when you attempt to matchmake, and it gets worse with a very large player base. The core of the problem is that the matchmaking is attempting to put you into the same game as a lot of other players.

Frequency:
This happened at launch for almost all players who have attempted to use Quickplay, either on PC or PlayStation. Over the last twelve hours, it’s reduced for the PC community, but is still prevalent for PlayStation users.

What We’ve Done / Are Doing:
We put out a patch yesterday that took the Quickplay success rate on Quickplay attempts from about 5-10% to about 75-80%, with a fair bit of regional variability. This is just a fix on PC at the moment, but an emergency PlayStation fix is coming out in the next four hours. Watch this space.

What Players Can Do:
We hope that for PC players who have updated, you can get past Quickplay the majority of the time now. If you are still getting the error, you can avoid or mitigate it in a few ways:

* Joining friends directly (either people you already know or friend codes you’ve shared on Discord or Reddit with other members of the community)
* On PS5: turn on Crossplay, go into a game on your own, and then throw out the SOS beacon. That will allow PC players to join you.
* Additionally, we have noticed some players reporting Quickplay working if you travel to a planet with fewer players on it. At the moment, far fewer players are on the Automaton planets, so you can try flying there, and then making the attempt

Despite matchmaking successfully… you still may crash

The Problem:
If you do get past the big Quickplay issue… you may STILL crash.

Why It Happens:
This is a related matter to the matchmaking problems. If you do join a mission, the game isn’t handling this correctly at all.

Frequency:
This seems to be happening about 30% of the time, which in turn is only out of the population of people who get past quickplay.

What We’ve Done / Are Doing:
This is a major error, and we are working on it as part of the solution to the overall matchmaking issue.

What Players Can Do:
Similar to the item above, the most reliable way to avoid this problem is to share friend codes and play the game this way.

Critical problems for players using the AMD Radeon 7000 series of GPUs

The Problem:
There are all sorts of significant problems players with these GPUs are experiencing, in total making the game nearly unplayable.

Why It Happens:
We aren’t sure at the moment. We had tested with these GPUs previously and hadn’t encountered this in-house, but clearly there is something deep that is wrong.

Frequency:
This is a constant issue for these users.

What We’ve Done / Are Doing:
This one needs some investigation, and our team is looking at it in collaboration with AMD. Please watch this space: we will update when we have more details on this matter.

What Players Can Do:
We need to better understand the problem. Thank you already to players who have sent in more details of their specs so that we can attempt to reproduce. Some AMD-using players have conveyed that they can play the game on the lowest performance settings. We know this is far from ideal, but it may be worth manually ratcheting down the performance in-game and via your GPU settings to see if that helps. Again, we will update here when we have more.

Some users have found that...
* Turning off SCREEN SPACE GLOBAL ILLUMINATION works.

Stuck on "Press Any Button" on the splash screen while trying to log in to servers.

The Problem:
Some players can’t log into the game at all, and are stuck on the static splash screen that says “Press Any Button”. Normally, you would proceed straight into your Super Destroyer from there. These players are also receiving no additional message. It just seems to hang on “Press Any Button”.

Why It Happens:
This is a server problem. We make a connection to servers when you hit a button here. The server does a handshake with your game, makes sure everything is looking clean, and then lets you in. Unfortunately, if the server itself has a big queue of issues, it doesn’t return the handshake. Doubly unfortunately, the message on the splash screen isn’t updating to explain that to you.

Frequency:
This isn’t happening constantly, as it only occurs in moments when server capacity is reached. The reports are entirely clear on the frequency of this issue. We suspect it’s about 1 out of every 150 players experiencing this.

What We’ve Done / Are Doing:
This is an issue that we can improve directly with the servers. We’ve already significantly bumped up server capacity in the last twelve hours, and we are expecting that this issue should drop now.

What Players Can Do:
If you still encounter this, and it doesn’t seem to resolve, can you please write into our Zendesk support queue? It would help us tabulate the frequency more accurately. We’ll update this issue in the future to confirm if we believe our fixes are working.

Game launch failing due to GameGuard errors

The Problem:
When this problem arises, players can’t start the game at all.

Why It Happens:
The anticheat software is catching false positives.

Frequency:
About 1 in 150 players are reporting this issue. But when it does happen: it’s happening all of the time.

What We’ve Done / Are Doing:
We’re working with the anticheat vendor to see what adaptations we can make. When we do have solutions, those will be rolled out automatically via the anticheat on game start.

What Players Can Do:
We’ve learned that one workaround is to close other running software. We’ve found that the game has a particular challenge running alongside antivirus, fan cooling, or streaming video overlay programs. We would love to have some community support here. If you identify programs that the anticheat software can’t get past, can you let us know? We can work on getting those legitimate programs whitelisted so you can keep them on and still run the game.

Here are a list of things that we are aware of and/or trying to fix:

Some players are experiencing partial progression package upgrades

This means players can get stuck on a certain difficulty, unable to progress. Our team is working on figuring out how to solve this and what the cause is. There is no known workaround for now.

Stuck in Cryopod

Sometimes, when you join someone else’s ship at the same time as others, your Helldiver may get stuck in the cryopod and be unable to move. We have a future fix for this coming out, but in the meantime, if you wait until the other players select a mission, your Helldiver will be teleported into the Hellpod, and you can then play normally.

Account Linking

Some players are having trouble linking their PSN accounts to their game in the initial setup screen. They may see an error code indicating a server request problem. For now, you can skip that screen and play normally. Later—after we resolve those server request errors—the game will ask people who skipped that screen to try linking their accounts again.

No audio/sound in game

Unable to establish connection to the game

It is possible that this may have happened when our servers have been down for brief periods of time. Please look out for info if our servers are up/down and try again later.

Crashes

Unable to Launch

For now try these options, some of the community have had success with:
* Update C++ via microsoft, run as admin. run helldivers2.exe as admin
* Removing Microsoft Visual C++ files before (older) than 2012 worked
* Running the game as administrator from launch
* Make sure your firewall is not blocking it
* Disable your VPN if you have one
* Disabling Steam overlay

Crash on Launch

* Try disabling steam input!
Right click Helldivers 2 on steam library and click properties at the bottom of list
Go to "Controller" on left hand side second from the bottom
On the right side in controller options, change that to disable steam input

* We've noticed that some crashing is being reported from Windows 11 users. For some of these users, the issue has been temporarily resolved by changing the HD2 .exe to Win8 compatibility mode.

(potential) Nvidia Driver Crash

* Some users have reported that after disabling Image Scaling, they no longer crashed. Please try disabling this to see if it works for you.

* Try lowering your graphics preset. Go to options > graphics, the first option in the list is "graphics preset". Try changing this to medium or low.

* Make sure all your drivers are updated to the latest versions

Where can I report a problem???
So my Drop menu and Comm menu is broken, I can only move my mouse right or up. and once i have moved it, it cant move bad.

The game still forgets some of my key binds whenever i close it, forcing me to rebind them when i start the game, I did send a ticket two weeks ago without a response to date. I am using a QWERTZ, German keyboard. Any help would be appreciated.

The game crashes to the desktop when trying to access the social menu or settings

after pressing quickplay the game switches between "establishing uplink with host ship & searching for active sos beacons" but never actually joins

I got 3 issues I want to add.

1) If you change any input to a NUM key, it shows up as just (number) instead of NUM (number). So NUM 5 would just appear as 5.

2) If you change any input to a NUM key, The game won't correctly save it and you have to rebind it the next time you start up the game.

3) Sometimes, selecting with the mouse simply doesn't work. This one's a bit more complex, but the main issue is that the cursor doesn't select a particular stratagem, and instead, works from a different selector. I assume this is a compatibility issue with the mouse. The workaround for the moment is to use WASD to put the controller selector over the choice I want, then using LMB to select my choice.

Overheating issues with GPUs

RTX 4070 Ti and only in Helldivers 2 does my GPU overheat and rev up its fans to nearly 2000 RPM. Hot spot gets to 105*C at times.

I have played multiple games on my current build and it never climbs above 70*C.

Patch after patch, I have not seen GPU overheating issues being acknowledged. This is unplayable. As much as I enjoy playing Helldivers 2, I do not think anyone wants to "melt" their components for one game.

CPU: I5-13600K

I have plenty of cooling. Airflow is excellent with all games and idle. It is completely isolated to Helldivers 2.

Last patch broke friends crossplay between Ps5 and PC, cant add friends, forums are already flooded about this issue. Bought the second copy of HD2 just so we can play locally with girlfriend, doesnt work, tried two steam and two PSN account and different combos

If you nerf railgun to status of first Helldivers, maybe youu can buff recoilless rifle back to stats of first chapter?
Now it is impossible to fight chargers because you have not enough ammo to kill it by shooting ass and recoilless gun needs 3-4 shots to kill only ONE big bastard !

I haven't tried the railgun since the patch/update, but aiming for the butt of it took longer to kill than blowing off a leg. 3-4 shots on the same leg generally dropped the charger. I found it was usually 5-6 shots on it's backside to kill it.

You have a custom fan profile set?

I use MSI Afterburner to set a fan profile for my 3080Ti.

I also use it to reduce the Power Limit for the GPU - I've got it set to 75%. Doing this I've only lost about 5-10% performance in most games, but it helps keep the GPU running cooler. Temps rarely exceed 80C in any game I play.

If you're crashing to desktop right when launching the game after the latest past, and you're running the game on DX11, try removing the launch options and defaulting to DX12. This fixed the launch CTDs for me. Not ideal but it's a temporary fix.

Get rid of those wierd symbols in nickname, trust me. Once i get rid of my star etc, it worked
