Arc is decent with the illuminate, but it's situational to being near harvesters, which is usually a fairly rare occurrence, unless you want to kill them with a flamethrower for some reason. The teslas will still kill you, just one or two seconds later, so that's out. What the medic armor offers is useful in any situation and a huge core upgrade, so it's a pretty clear cut comparison.
White and green just aren't my colors, though
It prevents a lot of situations where voteless in between reloads force you into ugly situations.
it's honestly easier to say what to avoid but even then you can make just about anything work
anyways I'd avoid heavy armor just because needing to constantly run to avoid zombies is gonna be harder when you're slow but even then if you have the right weapons this won't be that big of a deal, like I said you can make most stuff work
Lucky for you they gave the alpha commander armor.

It is fun with Experimental Infusion
Yeah it's a combo that's really hard to beat. Always good.
to the OP, yeah shock armor passive from the Cutting Edge warbond is a good choice, can't always pick where you'll engage anything in this game, especially in the city so having that extra OHK resist protection is a great idea. Also as some have pointed out, tanking a tesla shot can be advantageous if you've got other enemies massed around you, it will fork off and possibly kill some of them after striking you.
However, the best loadout for squids right now is below.
I specialise in solo, no stim, no death, kill all, full map clear runs.
Stratagems:
A/G-16 Gatling Sentry - Voteless, overseers, watchers and enemy shields.
A/MG-43 Machine Gun Sentry - Voteless, overseers, watchers and enemy shields.
Eagle Strafing Run - Anti-everything
Autocannon - Anti-everything
Loadout:
Armour: CE-74 Breaker - Minus 30% recoil when crouching and +2 grenades.
Booster: Armed Supply Pods - Voteless, overseers, watchers and enemy shields.
Primary: Las-16 Sickle - Voteless, overseers, watchers and enemy shields.
Secondary: GP-31 Grenade Pistol - Ground ships.
Grenades: G-10 Incendiary - Helps to slow down any voteless trying to reach me, so I can type into a terminal or focus on other targets.
Footage: (With explanations of how things work in video description)
Solo stimless, deathless, full map clear super helldive runs.
Run 1: 938 kills - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nIVsrt1eI4
Run 2: 1,027 kills - https://youtu.be/bORYIF6LplI
And those jetpacked overseers drop a ton of grenades on you and lots of explosive barrels and cars around so explosive resistance also helps.
