Yeah idk what's up with it. I'm running a Ryzen 9 7950x, 128GB of RAM, and a 3090ti. Should be able to run this game at max settings hitting 60+fps with this thing in sleep mode and I'm lucky to break 50.

What resolution?

I highly recommend cleaning your laptop's interior if you still haven't. My unit was very hot and throttling all the time until I cleaned it. Clean the fans and heatsink. Open the laptop's underside panel, hold the fans still, and blow canned air into the exhaust (keep the can upright at all times). Look it up on youtube or have someone else do it.

Legion 5 Pro with 3070ti here. I can get Fixed 60fps with a combination of Mid-low settings at 1440p, Balanced rendering . This is with Lenovo's Balanced mode so I think you can up the graphics if you switch it to Performance mode + lower the res down to 1080p.

The true answer is, game not optimized super good.

Turn down stuff like reflections all the way, seems to help and I couldn't tell you where the game even has reflections lol. Water... maybe?? I never look lol

Lower reflection and shadow give me 80 fps lol

Game engine is very CPU intense and it isn't optimized very well the more they patch the more they break and add more crap into the engine which seems to make performance worse. We actually need a performance patch like they need to go through and clear out the clutter if they can and I'm sure there's some code that they could get rid of that isn't used or needed.

I'm not a coder but surly

StingRay engine that is why. And bad optimization.

Besides cleaning laptop's vent ports etc.
Consider a cooling mat/table underneath, often they have USB powered fans, etc.

Check in game settings are optimised (there's many guides) & at Native resolution?

Might need to optimise windows. :summer2021simulation:
Check that your only using 1 antivirus program and don't have 2 installed like Avast and Bitdefender running at same time. Don't worry about Microsoft defender leave running.
Microsoft One drive uses a ton of CPU resources so completely quit/close it.
If using Geforce Experience then uninstall it (you can reinstall later if desired) & Reboot.

Look at Nividia Control Panel (icon is near date/time, or hidden in the ^ up arrow.)
(Clicking NCP icon will take a few seconds to start.)
Along left side choose "Manage 3D settings"
In right side choose "Program Settings" tab
Select "HELLDIVERS 2 (helldivers2.exe)" from drop down. (its not alphabetical)
- Background Application Max Frame Rate = 90 FPS
- Low Latency Mode = Ultra (Ultra should be your default, Never use off.)
- Max Frame Rate = 90 FPS (If unlimited my RTX3070 gets into +350 FPS & heats up)
Click Apply at bottom right corner. Then Start game to see.

If still having issues change NCP settings to improve speeds more by setting. :cozykcdaxe:
- Anisotropic Filtering = 4x
- Antialiasing - FXAA = OFF (this setting is already disabled for my RTX3070)
- Low Latency Mode = On
- Max Frame Rate = 60 FPS
- Texture Filtering - Anisotropic Sample Optimisation = Off
- Texture Filtering - Negative LOD Bias = Clamp
- Threaded Optimisation = On
Click Apply at bottom right corner, start game to find out.

If still having issues then likely there's something else going on imo.

Go to Device Manager, disable (dont delete) Nvidia High Definition Audio and adjust the audio drivers that way so you don't have to use the audio from Nvidia.

Threaded optimization and low latency mod kills your fps
