Social media, as much as I hate it, is necessary to have a game company in this day and age.
However you don't poison your social media with crybullies who have a power fantasy.
Additionally most of the polls are on discord, so if you want to actually give suggestions (though these are often ignored, even in a >75% vote, very undemocratic) via poll, you need to be there, whether you like it or not.
Additionally the people on social media like discord, are the ones who bring almost every issue, bug report and other item of discussion to the devs. It wouldn't be needed if there were no galactic war, but with the buff-nerf cycle, it's kind of necessary.
Q&A sessions with the developers?
If those move to steam, I'll gladly leave that server. The players (95% of them) are great. The CMs poison that place.
nah the users are poison too, every valid criticism is ridiculed and considered whining and everyone comes out of the woodwork to break rule 2 (dont be rude) but god forbid you do it back to them.
Worst interaction was referring to someone as "He" (which is my default if the person has an avatar which isn't of a female) immediately "Did you not check my discord bio!!! Change that now or I'm getting the mods!"
I state no offense was meant, though I won't be compelled into editing posts on demands backed up by veiled threats.
"Something something "Compelled" is a 'far right' dog whsitle @mod"
Mod comes in and says, "leave it, both of you." I say "that's fine, I'm happy to leave it at this."
Offended person (who must check everyone's bio, creepy) demands the mod do something.
Felt like the mod had no idea what to do, like they were scared of the person who cried for them to dish out some punishment.
In the end it was "Well I can't force you to apologize but you had better refer to that person as a she in future or I'll be back"
Which hints to me that there's a culture within the CMs that is very, very bad and all CMs are beholden to rules which the users can't see.
Though in the armory channels and stuff people are usually helpful for loadouts. I've seen worse servers. I've seen much better servers. It would be better if there were somewhere else for Q&A sessions, or if AH actually did something about CMs who are either abusive, or see abuse when it's just a joke and, given there's no racialism (Just democracy) in the quoted post can't have a laugh.
Or, Arrowhead could just tell the CMs the usual that is told to anyone in a position of power (or used to be, I've heard it before) "You have power over these people, that means you are here to help, not to hinder, you are an ambassador to our company, leave your personal beliefs, politics and petty feuds at the door.
Though some CMs have come out and said they feel bullied on their discord server.
Imagine a cop saying they feel bullied while they're on the job. Ludicrous.
I posted a meme.
Read the quote text in the OP, tell me what is obnoxious.
We spent 3 nights killing illuminate, in many of the ways described in the quote text. What about carrying out the work of democracy is extremely unpleasant?
That sounds like dissident talk.
I haven't seen their streams, though if pointing out soft hypocrisy is hard to deal with, then I wouldn't be surprised that they do use very derogatory terms. Though of course, since I haven't seen it for myself, I can't say they do for a fact.
Something repeatedly regurgitated to the point of obnoxiousness
Please see yourself out.
The thing that he posted is obnoxious. It is so overdone and regurgitated constantly to the point where it's just ridiculously obnoxious and not even funny anymore.
Honestly, I agree with everything he has said here in the thread besides that. Like what do you honestly expect though? The Arrowhead community moderators are known for being this way. They are completely biased and very much unfriendly to the player base in 90% of the cases that I have seen and heard about. Of course, that's probably not 100% accurate or true but still. It's a well known thing.
If you don't bow down and kiss the ass of whatever politics (pseudo or otherwise) they agree with and all that crap, you're just banned immediately and gone. It's better just to not interact with them at all. Don't put yourself in a situation where you're going to get in trouble for doing something that honestly everybody does which is why I originally said it was obnoxious at this point
I have literally seen people, my friend as a matter of fact, go on there and ask a question and he was kicked out shortly after even though it was a legitimate question about the game. I don't remember exactly what it was so take this with a grain of salt, but they said it was rude of how he worded it and he's like "dude my first language is not English" and they basically told him whatever
