Illuminate defense mission
Anyone have some good loadout/strategy advice for defense missions.

I have only been in one of those so far on diff 7 and we lost badly. Turrets didnt seem very effective. Normally I run a couple turrets and spam EATs on defense missions but that didn't go well hah. I didnt run any turrets that are good at shooting down the jet pack dudes so maybe that was part of it.

From what I can see, EATs aren't great against them in general. A single hit to the under ring of their ships though, is enough to bring it down. Don't miss or you lose that opportunity due to the slow reload.

We fell back to the first chokepoint and kept gas grenades in the doorway with Sentrys on the stairs pointed in the direction of the kill circle (where the 2 entry paths converge).

The tall and flying enemies get taken out first while the ground troops stumble around in gas waiting to die.
Shooting down the dropships with RR for illuminate is not fun.
Treat them like a zombie horde shooter from counterstrike.

One, better two, RR-Teams (gunner + loader). Destroy all ships befor they unload. If something reaches the ground: MG / Gatling sentry deletes everything except (maybe) tripods but these are oneshot for RR. Bring high rof primaries (sickle is best) to take down the shields from the tripods.

This is just the most obvious solution.
