So a *lot* of weapons are useless against the illuminatis
That's kinda sad. Wish they had left more options open for gears.

This could be a constructive thread, where you and others mention which ones we feel like useless.

By one side, maybe some of them are not so useless, and become at least situational once somebody mentions how they used them vs illuminate, so we could learn.

By the other side, if most of people concludes X weapon is very useless vs them (quasar maybe?) devs could have a good source with data to consider for the next balancing patches.

So lets list which we think are useless, and debate it?

Ill start with Quasar. Not useless but very less effective than vs bugs or bots.

Not useful with zombies or jetpack guys at all.

Spear shielded ones can also survive a hit. Striders can survive like 3 shots.

And also getting almost no results with ufos, both the dropship ones or the base ones.

Reinforcement ships are tough to take down, or maybe the AT emplacement isn't the right tool for that, nor is the new rocket launcher haha.

Until they add heavier units to the Illuminate roster, AT weapons will generally be underwhelming.

Yet to try, but maybe a rocket in the port they open when they stop?

That's like, half the equipment in the game, and a much larger range of equipment than on the other fronts. In exchange for a general resistance to our red stratagems, they are extremely vulnerable to our man-portable weapons

I have had a lot of success with the Stalwart as a support weapon. The only problem I have with primaries is that it is very easy to run out of ammo when getting swarmed.

If it means you get to play with the stuff that's fun but useless on the other factions then that'd be cool.

They're just all bullet sponges, makes them very unfun to fight against.

The punisher is great against them, splash damage for the Mass Effect Husk mobs and armor penetration for the Halo Elite squids with the staffs/jetpacks.

Yet there is lot of weapons that do work against them.

Suspect this is authors disgruntled experience about laser weaponry inefficiency against husks and low penetrating main weapons against overseers.

Give this man a Stalwart.

Yeah, notice how it could have been a constructive thread if you had started on that foot in stead of fingerpointing and being passive aggressive?

You are no better.

That does seem to be the tactic, me and a friend joined a mission and they were shooting the ships down almost instantly, as soon as the hatch opened its like the grounded ships. A clean shot and gone.

precision strike is very good at taking down the outpost ships as it will one shot though shield

Bad Stuff
---------
Quasar is just terrible, all laser weapons outside of the Orbial Laser are just really bad against them.
LMG >>> HMG for whatever reason.
500kg, Precision Strike and Rocket Pods all can't hit the Harvesters correctly (big war of the world walker guys)
Turrets have like a 50% chance to just aim above enemies heads instead of at the hitboxes. Wasting all their ammo shooting into the void. Tesla Tower is still as useless as it's always been due to it's inability to target enemies correctly.
Stun Grenades and the like don't do much, but the Arc Thrower can stun lock everything.
Landed UFOs can deflect Recoilless and EAT rockets even with their shields down.
Flying UFOs don't have a hitbox until they start hovering.

Good Stuff
---------
Scorcher, Purifier, Grenade Launcher and LMG can drop all their current units pretty quick outside of the Harvesters.
Commando and Exosuit rockets can 1 shot Harvesters to the leg joint. (Big War of the Worlds Walkers)
For the defend missions good ole Double Recoilless combo can just shoot down every UFO if you wait for them to hover before firing. 1 shot to engines or circular underbelly.
Orbital Laser "can' destroy their heavy bases by itself if it goes in the right directions.
