It's as if they took the worst version we've had of the terminids and combined them with the worst version of automatons.

stupid balancing surrounding the walker, i'll give you that
it eats all 4 commando missiles and EATs to the face arent a garunteed kill against it for some reason
guess it has tons of health because it can lose its armor? stupid reason to give it heaps of health
A lot of people are mistaking mission grind for difficulty. The Illuminate aren't difficult, but they're not particularly exciting to fight either.

There are a handful of weapons and stratagems that work well against them, a meta. Then there's a bunch of weapons and stratagems that are trash vs the Illuminate. Which is similar to the lack of freedom of play we had before the 60 day update.

the illuminatis are ass, and slow literally. Wtf have they done, in hd1 they used to be wayyyy better

you had to dodge lots of walls and lasers CONSTANTLY. Now its just a swarm of dumbos.

There's lots of counters to them, to say you don't have many viable builds now is just being disingenuous.
Play on lower diff and stop making an issue where there's none

Fr the discord is better but it's still bad
As someone who enjoyed the game before the whine divers got their way, the Illuminate are the most fun I've had in months. Just beat two operations on 10, it was amazing.

Now the game offers something for everyone. Easier than dirt enemies, and now difficult ones.

Seriously, give it time. They just came out

They haven't added a lot of the heavy units yet. There's at least one I've seen in leaks. Harvesters may look like titans but are just the equivalent of a charger or hulk.
The jetpackers and spear & shield guys shouldn't take 4-5 railgun shots (even to the head) to kill when I can take down any flavor Hulk with one well-placed shot. Or, equally absurd, I can mag dump with the primary of my choice...
Illuminate horde is slower than bugs and their Overseer is less tanky than bots

Arc thrower kills everything dude doesnt matter how many coming at you..you dont even have to worry about aiming the head or whatnot

Sounds like the railgun is the wrong tool. I just unload my rifle into them and it works fine.

These aliens aren't that well armor. I do notice they get some armor breakage when deal damage, so I do think there is some damage reduction going. However, again I can kill several without using any special weapons.

They don't really have heavy units that requires something like a railgun. Even the tri-pod walker can be felled by a simple machine gun.

He isn't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wrong though, they're ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awful to fight.
They are purposely over tuned right now, to keep the narrative that "we beat them once we beat them again" like the helldivers are understimating the threat.
Sooo yeah, i expect them to push some sectors and then their number will decrease after few major orders to stop them.
Just a guess not claiming anything here
