Stun Lance and Ballistic Shield

Isn't the Stun Lance two-handed and the Ballistic Shield doesn't block melee attacks?

Stun lance is one handed if the item info is to be believed

Never tried to let a melee enemy whack me with a ballistic shield

From what I understand it does something similar to the one-handed SMGs. It animates with two hands if both are open, but if you're carrying a package or a shield it animates one-handed.

You would actually want to use the directional shield if you are going to do a sparta charge so you can block each other's projectiles and overlap those shields

Just tried the combo for the lols with nothing but EMS strats and stun stuff to go with it. Though it's a fun idea on paper, the ballistic shield not being able to block melee makes it a poor choice (and really lame common AH let us sword n board) to pair with the baton (though with some quick reflexes I was able to block bullets while moving in). I did it on level 2 diff, the dudes with spears are funny to knock around but the zombie horde is a no-go. And of course can't sword n board the sentries flying around. I dont have the new warbond that has the new shield, maybe that might be better.

It'll be great against the bots because they're all ranged attackers for the most part and the weapon stuns whatever you hit

This makes you pretty immune to damage even when running towards enemies, just keep them on your left side and you don't even need to raise your shield much
