Goshdarn those developppppppppers.
just to clarify, do you mean an offline mode? without a need to sign into the servers?
edit: thanks for the edit
The 'main problem' of full servers has only been a problem since friday, cuz it got unnaturally popular thanks to funny internet hype over the week. During the week and even the weekend before, there was never a problem. Source, I have 170 hours and never saw a full capacity screen til saturday lol.
That's not unreasonable to expect since the first helldivers set the precedent that Helldivers as a franchise would always be rather niche.
Helldivers 2 has a combined total of 800k+ players. They're going to have to rewrite a huge chunk of, if not the entirety of their backend code that handles unique connections.
No easy or simple fix and no historical precedent for THIS many players. I wouldn't call them unprofessional or pathetic, just suffering from success to a degree that nobody anticipated.
But my point is, it's been 2 weeks and THAT is what I qualify as pathetic.
Many other professions would have a company collapse if product-damaging issues such as this game is having were to be on-going for two weeks. One week, sure, alright - But two and going on three? No.
All it takes to solve this whole mess is to make an offline mode. The game goes for $40 they don't get to let this happen for 2 weeks and cling to a free-to-play monetization system.
Accept the fact it's a multiplayer game. Stop trying to bend it to your will. The game isn't balanced around solo play. If they'd do an offline mode, you'd see tons of people crying about the difficulty etc.
If you don't like it, find a game you do like.
1. AFK in queue.
2. AFK in ship.
3. Farm in trivial.
It is very reasonable what just happens and if you use your brain just for 5 minutes in a row you might be able to understand.
