Yeah i did and both games are less CPU heavy.
How do you do that ?
I need to do it too
10700KF OC'ed to 4.9GHz.
On average with a 360 IAO cooler Im hovering around 66c while playing. 48c at idle. Or 70-80c in some matches. Seeing others mention that the higher end pc may be taking the workload off the other players really answers a lot of the variance going on. 80c is my ok I need to do something to cool down point. Even though my cpu is rated for temps to reach 94c without issue. Just no reason to bake one your hardware.
I can say the in game fps limiter and vsync "will" overheat your cpu. Keep both of those off and use your GPU software instead. I capped my fps to 75 via nvidia control panel simply to avoid unnecessary heat.
Definitely needing some further optimization.
Sames
And yes the game does utilize my CPU and GPU to max potential, luckily my machine is designed to stay cool at max load so i can run my hardware to its limits for extended periods of time.
What you can do if you are having heating issues due to cpu usage being too high is you can go to your power settings and set max processor state to something lower and it should cap your CPU from using too much power and causing more heat.
If you are having heating issues with GPU you can only lower your graphics settings or in nvidia control panel your resolution and cap your frames lower to lower its usage, you can even try the new ai image scaling.
except Darktide for example, which uses the same ancient engine, runs better, at higher intensity maps...
4080/5800x3d(-30 all cores) here at 3440x1440, and anything busier than a level 7 tier maps, will chug your fps down, like, from 120fps to 60fps while melting it up...
game is pretty inconsistent even with optmized settings!
The thing is neither my GPU nor CPU runs at 100% load when playing this game, framerate is really inconsistent from 70-120fps and drops to 40's when a lot of enemies are getting obliterated on screen.

I don't think it's normal that the GPU runs bellow 95-100% load on games, but Fortnite runs at 50% and sometimes below as well. The thing is in HD2 load runs at 60% on both CPU and GPU at times, I don't know if this is some kind of bottleneck or the game is terrribly optimized.
Although, Alan Wake 2 does run at 100% GPU and 25% CPU with max settings + Path Tracing High + FG. So I don't think the CPU is the bottleneck.
So why on earth is the GPU not at 100% usage on some games? lol
Specs: i7 12700F, 4070 Ti Super, 32Gb DDR4 3200MHz, B660M, 850w 80+G (12VHPWR), 1440p@170Hz monitor.
Cap fps in GPU Software and:
I had 100% CPU Usage and low 50% GPU Usage an what helped were settings in nvidia driver.
Threaded optimisation allows the driver to offload certain GPU-related processing tasks as separate thread(s) on available CPU cores. Fine in GPU bound scenarios, but a nightmare when the CPU is near 100% usage.
In nvidia control panel turning off threaded optimisation (from auto) and setting gpu power management to prefer maximum performance (from normal) decreased cpu utilisation by approximately 20% and increased gpu utilisation by around 15%.
Considering I was hitting around high 100% on the cpu, the improvement is noticeable with less stutter and hitching and generally more consistent and higher frame rates.
