FYI : If you are fighting on a less than 40k helldiver count planet, you're not helping the war.
Just letting you know, you are free to play where you want, but if you want to contribute to the war, stick to high player count planets.

Ennemies have a passive capture recovery.
With a few days analysis of the map, it seems that :

15-20K players is enough to get a stalemate.
40K+ players and above is ideal to capture a planet.
less than 10K is not enough and capture will stay at 0 or will be pushed back.

You know I do really wonder how devs expected people to capture planets in any reasonable time when it takes ages even when the game is "much more popular than expected"

I think they scale it to current player count. Meaning that right know, doing a mission is worth 0.00010% capture, but it might be worth 0.01 or even 0.1% if player count gets lower. They will adapt it on the go through updates.

Still, it would be better if matchmaking was not broken. Solo or small groups have their limit, especially in thoses defense & save civilians missions.

but right now we need to hard focus a planet if we wan't anything meaningfull to get done.

Yeah that makes sense and all to say that but we have over half of the playerbase ignoring the the bots in favor of the bugs for whatever reason. The most players we have on a bot planet is 36000 while we have 100000 on a single bug planet. I admit that the bug players are doing good work but we genuinely need help over here with the bots. We can't liberate anything since we have to keep fighting off their invasions.

I think they've already scaled contributions once or twice as the player count grew.

I thinks it's mainly due to the broken matchmaking right now. And the defense mission that is pure cancer. Unless playing a dedicated build with some AT to shootdown airdrops, double mine setups which allows 8 to be placed every 180s if in a 4 men team, and turret/mortar spamming, most players can't do anything as a solo or 2-3 men team in thoses missions.

As for attacking the automatons planets ? Well, pushing medium to big bases often require a coordonated assault, especially thoses with heavy turrets that can't be taken down from the front and require either a very close by airstrike or several reactor attacks with medium pen or explosives. those can feel overwhelming for solo/duo players.

Meanwhile for the bugs all you are required to do is to run around and shoot everything that can run faster than you. So IMO they feel easier as solo/duo if you do not try to fight them directly.

Yeah it's unfortunate that they give us these difficult missions with broken matchmaking. I just finished a challenging defense mission solo and I can't imagine going higher by myself. The difficulty spike for that single defense mission is terrible with the constant enemies. I hope they fix matchmaking today so we can actually defend these planets with each other.

Those, my son, are cowards. They claim to fight for liberty, but when the tiniest challenge arises, they run like dogs with tail between their legs, rather shooting at primitive target practice terminids, leaving fellow citizens to their doom.

Yeah, I can do up to 5 by myself but there's a BIG jump in those missions from 4 to 5 and it just gets worse from there.

I play where I know I can do it solo, so I mostly kill bugs.
Frostea Feb 20, 2024 @ 6:37am
Managed to solo a defense mission so anyone saying it’s too hard genuinely has a skill issue.
